Staredit Network -> SCMDraft -> Trigedit...

Okay. So I have Trigedit on my beta 6 SCM Draft 2. Now I go under plugins, select trigger editor. A window pops up. Now in the window, I go to file > new. Now what? I clicked just about everything, but how do I actually type stuff in?

I'm not concerned about the syntax, just how the dang thing actually works.

You dont need to create a new file open a file or anything just load up trigedit and start typing the triggers then once you finish click on the compile button in the top left (the checkmark)

So maybe it's just my screwed up Trigedit. Typing does just about absolutely nothing. Ah well.

You forgot to click the compile button(a checkmark).
It works perfect for me. I love it.

This is what I do:
I load up trigedit, I type in the triggers I want, correctly. I click compile it will come up with the Done thing and then I will save scmdraft 2(You must also save!), and then test my map.

How the hell is that hard? Hell when I asked SI for it(like a day before he made it public), I easily got it working without to much thought. Maybe it's just me knowing how to work things but....it's not that hard..

thats cause the text doesnt do anything untill you load up starcraft and play your map on use map settings then you will see the triggers take place if you spelled em all correctly and didnt make any bugs

Actually it wont compile(and will give you an error and on what line), if the syntax was wrong.

Here's the thing..
Let's say I want to type the command Always;
When I hit the A key, NOTHING HAPPENS. So I'm kinda lost.

Ok click on the right side of the screen. You know right of the tree, and below the Trigger - Switch - Unit Property.

Now try typing something...this thing works like notepad..

Even when I click (and I clicked everywhere) there's no 'I' cursor thing like in notepad...
I went to file>new and a 'hello world' thing popped up. I clicked near it, around it, blah blah and tried to type in that space and many others...nothing...

Thats cause your not supposed to click on new and it was compiled in C++ using a hello world programming format...

DarkWizzard if your reading this you need to remove the new, save, and all those other useless options since they do nothing except confuse alot of people

Even still, I've tried typing before, during, after...NOTHING works. I tried installing SCM Draft 2 again, but I still CANNOT TYPE ANYTHING IN. Gah, now I'm stuck with the whole point-and-click feature of StarEdit...

I think I see your problem you sayd ur on a beta scmdraft I sugguest you update it to the current version at staredit.net since someone told me 1 of the pre-released had problems with trigedit
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Hofodomo on 2005-08-30 at 09:33:40
All right. I am now using the SCM Draft beta 6.0 that was linked to the front page from the Staredit.net website. I have an OS-XP. As far as I know, the comp is fine. So you you all use the Trigedit pluging that comes with the latest 6.0 download? Cause that's the one I'm using. I've tried to go to both the DLDB and stormcoast fortress website and downloaded both versions, but I'm still getting the same trouble with trigedit.
