M A R I O K A R T B A T T L E 2
Outline:
Players: 7
Observers: 0
Computers: 1
Terrian: Space
Map Size: 128x128
File Size: !!! NEW Version 2.1 - 350 KB !!!
Creator: KhaosKreator
Basic Instructions:
The objective of this game is to demolish your opponents in battle. To do so, you
must traverse through one of the four stages collecting '?' Blocks. Touching one of
these blocks will randomly give you an item. To use this new item, select your
Dropship, and unload the new unit within the Dropship by left clicking it. Each player
has 3 lives, and you will be revived for a new round when one player is remaining.
Options:
At the start of the game, Player 1 may choose to customize the game via an options
menu. You may pick how long the game will last, whether or not the screen will
center on your player, whether you go fast or slow speed, and finally, whether or not
you want the Mario Kart Battle theme music to play.
Hotkeying:
After you finish with the options, you will be given a short period of time to hotkey
your Dropship. It is crucial that you keep this unit hotkey'd throughout the entire
game, so it is recommended that you hotkey it to multiple numerical slots.
Stage Selection:
The winner of the last round will be able to choose what stage is played next. Each
stage has it's own hazards, which are outlined below.
Skyscraper
Size: Small
Special: Chain Chomp
Skyscraper is the smallest stage, and is thus suitable for two or three players. The
Chain Chomp roams around the rooftops, devouring anything and anyone in it's
path. Chain Chomp can be restrained and controlled, if you are brave enough to
grab the end of his metal chain.
Bowser's Castle
Size: Medium
Special: Big Boo
Bowser's Castle is a mixture of narrow pathways, and massive chasms. Lurking in
the shadow's is Big Boo, who will occasionally clear out the haunted halls, and slam
into anyone within reach.
Donut Bowl
Size: Large
Special: Warp Pipes
Donut Bowl is a large arena, made for large battles. Best played with many players,
Donut Bowl is also free of dangerous hazards. Instead, there are eight Warp Pipes
placed around the edges of the arena. Moving to one will provide immediate and safe
passage to the other side of the arena.
Sticky Sewers
Size: Large
Special: Sticky Traps
Sticky Sewers is the largest map. Also lacking in hazards that inflict damage, these
sewers are covered with a more subtle threat. Sticky Traps will slow down any
players that are unfortunate enough to tread on them, making them easy prey for
other players.
Items:
There are a whole host of different items in Mario Kart Battle 2 to collect. They are
listed below. Note that, in certain scenarios, the probability of recieving a certain item
can change. For example, you will not be able to pick up a Poison Mushroom if you
are critically damaged.
Red Shell
Double Red Shells
Green Shell
Triple Green Shells
Banana Peel
Triple Banana Peels
Fire Flower
'¿' Block
Starman
Magnet
Warp Pipe
Lakitu
Bob-omb
1-Up Mushroom
Poison Mushroom
Spike Shell
For more information on what each item does, you'll have to play to find out!
Now available at the DLDB!lol, sounds like a good map, and looks hilarious.

DLed it, I'll play right now. Maybe you could somehow shrink the size. Too hard dling through bnet.
ADDITION:
This is HELLA FUN. The maps are great and is realistic in terms of mario-kart. Loved it. All it needs is center view on the kart.

You can center view on karts if you really want to.
Just look at the options.

Yea, I realized that. I double clicked with rine and it hit no.
Drools* Need... Puzzling.... Ahhh!!!

Fun map, but you REALLY need to make a soundless version, or compress the wavs A LOT more. Please, you can't really distribute it through b.nets crappy download servers.

You make a good point. But I've found a better solution.
The exact same map, except it's about 60% smaller!
Enjoy!
Mario_Kart_Battle_2.1.scx ( 341.07k )
Number of downloads: 2The filesize isn't that much of a problem

Khaos, you should rename that file (up above).
"The scenario is unreadable because the filename is too long"
I could simply rename it, but if other people download from that link and rename with another name, maps will start circulating with different names, making people have to re-download the exact same map if they end up joining a game with the same map, but different filename.(unless changing a name doesn't affect having to re-download)
Wow, Starcraft sure is picky.
Fixed, finally.

Puzzling ready yet?? It's been so damn longm lol.

Yeah sounds kind of fun

just played it and when the center view on the vulture is on it jus sucks...
its much better when theres no center view ;\ anyway nice map gj
kicks all maps in the tuckus. best i've ever played 10/10

Its fun and easy to play, I liked it a lot, but you might want to be even more clear about the need for hotkeying the dropship, and give players longer to hotkey it. Or you could just not have it be under that weird fog of war thingy, so people can still rehotkey if you don't get it the first time. 8/10.
Awesom map, I played it, thinking it would be the same as the first, but nope it wasn't, it was better!:) Can you tell me what powerup infests the pickups so when you pick them up it hurts you?
I think thats the lacota, but it might be the ?box item, which creates an evil ?box behind you. The lacota probably just picks stuff up, I can't really tell.
People on bnet never minded about the long download. Maybe because I'm so cool

Does anyone know what Lakitu does? All I see is a queen flying out and...eh? I once ran under it and nothing happened?
Also is there anyway of getting rid of the poison mushroom? I remember using it once and 3 players came and put a banna peel each next to me...gah!
The lakita thing picks up mystery boxes, making it harder for people to arm themselves. As for the poisen mushrooms, I beleive the only way to get rid of them is to use them, preferably in an isolated area.
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!! Good job man, nice map making.

aEp @ USEast is recruiting <3
... what above said
But seriously, very nice job with the map. I'm impressed.
I remember reading the post about the competition you won in...it said something about how if someone else just eneterd even with an unfinished map they could have beat you...i really don't think so. this map was done extrordinarily well and a half finished map couldn't ever beat it. Maybe it wasn't his taste?
