--Zerg
---You are an Overlord serving the Overmind. You control a constantly replenishing Brood of Zerg minions to kill anyone in the Overmind's path, increasing your Minerals, used in upgrades, and Reputation, used in adding to your Brood. However, you must use your Brood carefully, because of the fact that Zerg units are weaker than the Terran or Protoss individually. Your own physical self can move, but remember that if your own body is destroyed, the Overmind can recreate you, but at a price of Reputation and Minerals.
---Your "leveling up" consists of gaining more units, new units, more new units, and so forth, which are bought as permanent upgrades using Reputation points. Upgrades to attack, armor, etc. are bought with Minerals.
[attachmentid=13406][attachmentid=13407][attachmentid=13408]

--Terran
---You are an unarmed Civilian. You earn Trainings in various Firearms, robotic Vehicles, and Ships. These will earn you more Money when you kill enemies of humankind. At any point in training you may decide to Hero a unit in which you finished training in, which receives the benefit of increasing health as you gain levels from Experience. If you ever fall in combat, you will be resucitated at the main base, but lose all your Experience and, if you're a Hero, all your Minerals as well.
---Each Training includes the following steps: meeting the Requirements for a unit; selecting the unit; using the unit to gain experiences until a specific point has been reached; the Training is completed, opening up new units needing that Requirement, and opening up a Hero option, which enables you to "level up"; use the Hero version of the unit to receive incremented HP every level (but only for that unit), not to mention increased energy level for unit-level spells associated with that type of unit (e.g. +50 mana for Science Vessel).
[attachmentid=13401][attachmentid=13402][attachmentid=13403][attachmentid=13404][attachmentid=13405]

--Protoss
---You are a newly trained Zealot summoned to the Protoss Temple. You gain minerals as you kill the foes of the Protoss, and you can spend them to be promoted in Rank when you have gained sufficient trainings, which means you can purchase better Robot units to help you in combat, such as an Observer or a Reaver. If ever you should fall in combat, you weill be recovered in a Dragoon. You can still gain minerals as a Dragoon, which can be used to resurrect you back to a Zealot or to purchase a Hero Dragoon suit, which can gain increasing health and Rank like other Heroes. However, the levels gained by a Hero Dragoon will not be retained the next time you die and purchase a Hero Dragoon suit.
---The Protoss is currently the only race that has a trigger-operated spell, which is Archon Morph. This spell can be used by either the High Templar or the Dark Templar, and transforms them to their respective Archon forms. However, if the Archon is not in a building or Shuttle, it consumes Mana per second. Mana is represented by gas. It increases by 12 per second (unless if in Archon form), has a max of 200, and 100 is the bare requirement to transform to Archon. When the Mana reaches zero, you will be reverted back to Templar form, or you could choose to do so yourself.

Sounds different... I shall test it out and come back with a review when I get time. I hope it is as good as it sounds.

I just played. It was pretty fun. I trained up to dark templar then I died because I ran into the sunkens -_-. Just wondering. How would you get passed the sunkens or bunkers if your gonna die right away? Gameplay was great, it gave me the MMORPG feeling because all you do is level biggrin.gif.

ADDITION:
Oh, and a suggestion, fix the Help buttons. I didn't understand what some of the buildings were for.

Sorry, I haven't yet started the Help buttons (I believe I did label them Out of Service though).

The Sunkens (and Photons and Bunkers) were meant to be scaring the crap out of you, because they protect the Spawn buildings of the respective races. Even though you can't see their health, they're not invincible, but do require advanced levels to kill. For the Zergs, the Defilers' Dark Swarm; for the Protoss, the Corsair's Disruption Web; and for the Terrans, good ol' Nukes.

But would that take a long time to get? I died and turned into a goon and couldnt do anything because lings keep popping from behind and surrounding me.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kumano on 2005-08-31 at 08:16:22
You should put some kind of warning around the spawn points, on a high templar you won't see any bunkers until you're already dead.

When I was terran, I killed 2 zerglings then ran back to try to stay alive, then an ultralisk hit me and I had to start over.. As Zerg, the overlords kept pushing me off the hive and it got quite annoying and then later on the comp just flooded the base with hydras and ultras over time and I could barely move around. As Terran/Protoss I got annoyed from always entering buildings, would be nice if you put an on/off thing for buildings like in WoS2.

Go to the Cybernetics Core. 2500 minerals resurrects you back as Zealot, and 5000 minerals gives you a Hero Dragoon.

Yeah, it's a good point.

The way I made the patrol routes wasn't intentional, but every time the Ultras come just about the time you'll be running away from the Zerglings/Hydralisks. My advise is just don't rush it, let the Ultra wave pass before going back.

The Zerg Overlords aren't trigger controlled, they just seem to want to flood the Hive. However, it's not too bad since they'll take care of people who'd hog the Hive Cluster, which is useful in Multiplayer.

The entering building thing is a good point too. For now just go around the buildings.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by iamandragon on 2005-09-01 at 00:47:11
Maybe set a trigger for the zerg comp to move out once a while? I lost every unit but my defiler remain trapped and couldn't continue at all.
Include the drop/unload function for your overlord maybe?

ADDITION:
I just checked out the protoss. Can you just move the forge a bit into inner land? The zerg hydralisks loves pwning it, OUT OF RANGE of cannons! And everytime I'm training on the other side(east exit of base) the hydra attacks the forge. And if I go down and try save it the ultras pwn me like a piece of blam. If I wait for the wave to pass the forge goes BOOM and I'm crying NOOOO!

I'll see terran now.

ADDITION:
Erm...How do you use those nukes?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kumano on 2005-09-01 at 07:14:03
They have 2 forges you know... And you need to have the hero ghost to use nukes.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by iamandragon on 2005-09-01 at 11:08:48
Hero Ghost? How?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kumano on 2005-09-01 at 11:53:32
While in the barracks theres a 'toggle heroing' option (or something like that), go onto that beacon when your already done the ghost training and then go to the ghost beacon and you should become a hero ghost.

I take that back. As you said before, you have a lot to work out.
The main thing is the help becons. I had no idea what to do.

Also, at the begining it's way to easy to die.

ADDITION:
Now that I read the thread I know what to do, but before i didn't.
Played again. The main problem is that your too weak to go outside of the range of your base's cannons. However, the cannons take all you kills, becuase they kill things in one hit bc they're super cannons.

Well, the marine can hero himself, but becuse of there is not enough space between the zerg base and the protoss base, the zelot can't hero himself easily enough.

I think it's okay in difficulty in beginning, but later in gamer you'll still be gaining exp at the same area(unless you decided to join the big air battle in middle) which gets boring pretty soon.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Fronter on 2005-09-03 at 17:59:52
Ok, I played it... It was weird yet nice... Pretty hard to kill buildings... I had the Hero Battlecrusier, and I had to keep retreating, then comming back about eight times to kill one spore colony.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PCFredZ on 2005-09-03 at 23:54:32
There's a definite balancing problem with this, or rather, the whole thing itself isn't very balanced. By making it realistic, I made the map extremely laggy and unpleasant to play for longterm enjoyment. Considering the fact that my PC's hard drive died on me, this project is now closed.

Sorry to all who had their hopes up. sad.gif

If you do get the unprotected version, be sure to fix the zerg base bug, which the brown zerg build so many men in the base that zerg players cannot move, i had to nuke them to help the zerg players out happy.gif Make them do sumthing with the units when they get so many.

EDIT: Sorry if i seem like im a hacker (im not) , and i dont do this often, but since i love this game so much im sending PCFredz an unprotected version. Sorry if you think this is wrong of me.
