I'm sure all of you know someone like this, the kind of person who constantly uses the word ignorant out of context, when I try to say something to those people they say it's just slang.

Slang - 1. A kind of language occurring chiefly in casual and playful speech, made up typically of short-lived coinages and figures of speech that are deliberately used in place of standard terms for added raciness, humor, irreverence, or other effect.

2. Language peculiar to a group; argot or jargon: thieves' slang.

Ignorant - 1. Lacking education or knowledge.
2. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake.
3. Unaware or uninformed.

Notice how they in no way overlap?

Stupid poser kids all around today think that they invented the term while making insane new meanings for it, like people who say it every other sentence, what is wrong with them? Do they actually think that's what the word means?

Ignorant is not a slang word, stop pretending it is

Exactley, but "ignorant" is just to big of a word to be slang. In 100 years will words such as floccinaucinihilipilification and pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis be common in the mouths of youths all over the world? If this trend continues then yes... But I pray no.

Well I'm talking about people my age and older. And it really ... pisses me off to no end. So I assume it would be worse for other people. I usually have no problem with slang but this is the end of it for me. I renounce all slang.

It's slang, there are lots of words that are slang, you probobly use some form of slang without knowing it, live with it.

I like slang. Not only is it used by the public, but I have words and word substitutions that only my friends and family understand. Inside jokes! It's a way for me to make jokes or say horrendous things without actually using the words, but substitutions.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsylicovolcanoconiosis (I hate my science teacher >.<) is a disease of the lung. Also known as "Coal Miners Disease". So you have no worry of that becoming slang in everyday life.

And I agree. Ignorant IS to big of a word to be used as slang. People usually use slang to shorten what they want to say.
