Firstly, I want to thank the creator of Starforge for an excellent editor. I've run into some bumps while using the editor for the last few days, but I'm rather resilient and have solved all my problems so far.
I truly enjoy being able to use square terrain, and evenly place objects using the snap-to grid and offset features. Stacking, lights on and off, all neat tricks I can do with Starforge. I thank you greatly.
Was VERY confused with the trigger system for about an hour, til I visited this site and found a tutorial. Now I'm beginning to agree, the system is easier to use than the supplied Campaign Editor. Mission briefings threw me for a loop, SC kept crashing when running tests on my map until I realized that Starforge uses slots 0,1,2 and 3 instead of 1,2,3 and 4. I'm a pretty smart cookie.
My issue at hand however, one I can't seem to get past, is in the Unit and Hero Settings Menu. Now forgive me, I tried looking around for posts that might answer my question, (I'm not an 'ask for help' kinda guy) but if the answers are in this forum somewhere, I couldn't find it. Now please everyone, read my dilemma carefully. I know that a unit can only be named ONCE. I am a stickler for detail, and I customize the names of my units. But it seems that no matter what I do, (i.e. changing one and saving, changing them all and saving, changing unused ones in different orders then saving, etc.) some of my custom unit names don't want to stick. Now I'd be the last to just jump and yell BUG, but for the life of me, I alter the name of one unit, then another, and when I go back to the first, it has the name of the second!
For example:
I change the Protoss Probe to Racecar.
Then change the Protoss Zealot to Pit crew.
When I go back, the Protoss Probe is now labeled as Pit crew.
Thats just an example but the real units giving me problems right now, (or atleast, the ones Ive detected, are the Dark Templar, The Comsat Station and The Adult Chrysalis. All three of these units will label themselves with the last label I use on either of the three. Other unit names (like the Toss Probe) don't exhibit this problem.
Im sorry this was so long. My intent here was to also introduce myself.
I go by the name Karahl and LostNForgotten on B.Net. I've been playing since SC's inception. Tinkering with maps here and there. Back during the Worlds Fastest shared series, I designed the Galaxy's Fastest Map. Which was replaced with minerals being stacked next to the CCs. Starting the whole new line of ZC melee maps. I have a nasty temper, often a sore loser, but never cheat, maphack, bs and I loathe being instantly dropped.
I want to thank everyone again, and in advance for any support you can lend. Take care all, see you all out on the fields of AIUR.
Karahl
Somehow they're using the same strings. Set everything to use the default names, and then change them back, one-by-one.
