does anyone know of a program that limits how much system recourses another program uses?
and dont say task manager, because i cant open the game, minimize, set priority to low, and go back. this needs to be instant for when my sister starts the game.
because im trying to lagg up a game my sister plays on my computer, it laggs too much, she goes to the other computer. my problem sloved.
Just run lots of programs in the background. Or one big script that does absolutely nothing, but takes forever to do, and loop.
If it's an online game, just download a bunch of crap on all your computers to lag the net. Or just go to the other computer... or ask her, that will get you somewhere.
Turn on a p2p program and download 5 really long movies.
Set some random but highly cpu/ram consuming process' priority to maximum. You could also set the graphics settings on the game to be really really high. Oooh, new idea, run pifast on your computer, that thing is a serious processor hog. Then you can just terminate it when you're on.
Addition: You could also corrupt her installation of the game by removing key files, if you feel that evil.

pfft... takes me 10 minutes to download one movie. *Edit: with person-to-person

I said 5, And I mean movies like the matrix or Lotr.
Download all the starwars, the matrix and lotr at the same time then let her attempt to play.
Make a combination of my idea I said (I big long script that does nothing and loops)
and
make it so that it minimizes and gives an error saying:
"Error [some random number] in [some random DLL or EXE name]."
Get a password for your computer.
Make a program faking a Blue Screen of Death, and have it so the only way to get out of it is to press Q or some other random key.
Alternatively, try the SysInternals BSoD screensaver, and have it only be deactivated by a key press. Most people overlook hitting a key on the keyboard. (The screensaver mimics getting a BSoD, restarting the computer, getting a BSoD, etc...)
Use Farty's idea.
Disable net access for that computer... >.> (Temporarily)
If she runs it from a shortcut all the time, switch the shortcut to a fake-error inducing program.
Those are my ideas. :-/

just to let everyone know, im trying to lagg out the sims 2 university.
I made a program that is just a black screen and there is no way to get out...
Except I think Ctrl+Alt+Del works, is she that smart?
If you want this, tell me.
EDIT: Forgot to mention it uses a secret key combo to get out

Oooh, have it so if you press CTRL, it pops up with another error. Most people press CTRL first, so maybe it'll discourage her.

The original one I made flashed in many colors "NO COMPUTER FOR YOU" and if you pressed a button it sayd "Haha, no computer for you!" but if you do Ctrl it pops up, but if you finish the Alt Del it works.. and you can Alt+Tab it

Never played it, but the sims 2 is still a large game... Just wait till all the expansions are out.
How about big black blank screen and you press F7 or something to exit?
nono. im not trying to prevent her to play, she has to be able to play the game, but i just want it to run slow as hell, so she will give up playing on my comp.
Why doesnt ur sister just use the other comp in the first place?
ooook. well. she has some sort of leverage on me since she bought the game when it came out. i forgot what it was, and if i just dont let her play, she breaks my computer. and since she's not 18 yet, (17) i cant sue her for damage my proporty. (yes me and my sister hate eachother that much, well i do anyway)
she totaly forgot the game for a really long time, then she bought the expansion, played, and forgot. now the next one is coming out and she wants to play more. it was never TOO MUCH of a problem, but it recently has become one because BF2 you need to finish rounds, AND im learning PHP and its kinda hard to stop right in the middle of a script.
If she can't use the comp at all, how is she going to play at all?
I made a quick program with Game Maker, do Shift+Page Down+Backspace and it exits, wanna try that?
well. if the computer works fine, then when i get off it doesnt. what would you say..
When you hear her coming say something happened and you cant figure it out, and look like you are really frustrated.
Then if you ever decide to let her use it say you got it to work.
