Alrighty, ive never actually updated my graphics card to the latest driver before. Because i havent had this comp long. Can anyone tell me what update drivers really do.

I know it updates your display drivers, but WHAT exactly does it do? Does it update Open GL or what? I just cant seem to understand what exactly it does and is it worth DLing. Im probably messed up here and should DL them all right away. And i cant seem to find my answer anywhere.

They can fix alot of stuff, from making something compatible with something else, or just upgrading what it can do.

Really depends on what the driver you're downloading is, try looking on the driver's homepage for an update list to see what it does.

thats the thing. there was over 11 updates for my graphics card. there were no details of what they do. Me being on 56k Dialup, this can be a hassle since most of them updates over 16mb+.

Yes. It will most likely give the latest OpenGL libraries and that stuff, so your games will look better. It will also probibly upgrade the hardware (I'm not exactly sure myself either)

It all depends on your gamming experience. If you have a kick ass 3D game and it's a bit choppy in some parts, updating your video card will probibly get rid of the choppiness.

But if you're a programmer, updating your video card is worth it because it gives you the latest OpenGL drivers for your card, making it so you can make cooler looking graphics (OpenGL is a nifty language. I'm just barely starting to get into it)
