Since all the Application Guides have now moved to here we can discuss as a staff who we all belive is best fit for each job.

Now i actually had a Word document with a reply and a score for each person on the first page of the ums part but the site went down and I happened to close it out without saving before i got it back. Well instead of highlighting why I don't think people should get the job i'll just say who i think will be a good canadate.

Here is a place to 'nominate' or mention people you think would make a good job or applications that looked good to you. If someone 'nominates' someone bad and you disagree with it. Say they broke your water gun when you were 5. Make sure you mention it.

"Freddy is a bad canadate because he ignored the rules of engagement and sprayed me with the water hose after breaking my gun."

Use Map Settings

LegacyWeapon: 8/10
LegacyWeapon is a long time member of Sen with 0% warning level. I belive he would make a good leader and has good insight about the use map settings community.
In his application he highlights the fact that he has managed the Tutorial Database, I’m not sure what improvements he has done for the database besides managing it but that should be considered. He quoted the Assistance section’s rules and is interested in enforcing these rules. He kinda replied to the template idea witch I personally think is a waist of time but whatever at least he realizes that not everyone will use it.

Wing-of-no-Wing: 8/10
Who is this guy? I don’t know I’ve never really had contact with him. Most of his post are in the Map Making Assistance section. He is a sophomore in college, I hate to blindly that age brings maturity but his application really stood out to me. First off he mentions that he doesn’t post yet and explains it in a positive way, He is a lurker and also unbias ‘no bad blood’. As far as the improvements listed; I really like the first one, I think it shows that He is looking out for the community and trying to change the section to improve it. (the reason were hiring people) Anyone can make FAQs and anyone can moderate but it takes someone extra interested in each section to see its weekpoints and be creative enough to propose a solution. His other two suggestions seem honorable.
I am not familiar with his work as far as Mapping nor his posting style so if he would be considered he obviously would need to be looked into further.

Mp)3 I respect mp)3 alot. He has always had a mature outlook on things and would be a great person for the job based souly on my past experiences with him. The only thing I would doubt is his time and willingness to stay.
I don’t think his knowledge of the field is debatable, his experience is far beyond what I believe should be the requirement. His reason for joining most simply is “to escalate the process of this network” its simply put but it he did point out that he isn’t looking for power or fame with this. Mp)3 didn’t list any suggestions.

All other Applications I would be opposed too, but I won’t mention the reasons unless someone else says they would be a good canadate.

Well since your the existing dldb keeper I would think it would be a good thing to highly consider your opinion.

Down Load Data Base
I think each persons activity on battle.net would be a good thing to consider because if there never one battle.net I would doubt they would have much interest in testing new maps.

Legacy- The fact that he manages the Tutorial Database shows that he is willing to review submissions and all.

I'm going to bed, don't have time to read all the applications right now I don't think its neccissary, Acctivity plays alot bigger roll in this than it does for the other jobs.

Ok, i agree with that on Mindarchon, i've known him longer than anyone here.

My choices so far:

DLDB: I don't actually care too much here.. I'll do what you guys say here.
UMS: Mp)3 will be my first choice. I know hes knowledgable, he has a good reputation, and I think he can do great things for the UMS side.
MODDING: I'm leaning towards Voyager, barely. It's a tough one here and if you guys can give me feedback on this part than that'd be great.
MELEE: This one is important. Melee is slowly failing at this website, and we need someone to kickstart it again. I got Yenku in mind because he appears to know whats hes saying and is pretty active aroudn here. Then again, I'm throwing the ball around.

Can someone post a list of applicants? I didn't track all the applicants.

I definately think that cheeze deserves some sort of recognition, he seems to have put quite a bit into the community. Its too bad I only know them on the off topic level. I think its a good thing if they stay active in the off topic discussion areas civily; its a different way of showing how they react to day-to-day choices and such.

Though didn't Cheeze have a trial modship not too lonmg ago?

Yenku has a 60% warning level, is that fine? Especially since one is for an outright flame.

There are some forums that won't even consider an applicant with a warn log, even if the level was lowered later, unless it was a misunderstanding. Said forums is quite popular.

Well looks like Yoshi has decided to take a week off. I don't know if he intends on working towards a decision by this weekend or not (doubtfull). But I think we should make a good effert to discuss the applicants and give a univerial suggesiton.
Where's IP?

Here's my top picks for each category, in order.

Melee Applicants:
1. CheeZe - He already mods the melee forums. Plus, he is very good at playing melee and would recognize a good melee map when he sees it. I'm sure he could make a great melee map if he wanted to. But, I also have a bit of doubt as to whether or not he'll get lazy with the job.
2. MiLlEnNiUmArMy - He makes very good melee maps, as demonstrated in the Summer 2005 Tournament. I'm not sure if he'll really have the time and such to dedicate himself to the melee section. But, the knowledge and ability are apparent.

Modding Applicants
1. Voyager7456(MM) - I don't really play mods myself, but he seems to be at the frontline in terms of knowledge and ability.
2. Slyence - From what I see he has the ability and knowledge, but doesn't seem levelheaded all the time. The knowledge of the field is definitely there.
3. DT Battlekruser - Well, he works here already, which proves him trustworthy (minus one self-affecting power abuse ). On the other hand, he already works here. I think that its time to get some new people up here. I think that it would be better to keep him in the DLDB so he can focus his efforts there.

Use Map Settings Applicants
1. Mp)3 - I've heard nothing but praise about his maps, particularily the Everacha RPGs (though I confess - I haven't played them). From his other work, I have seen ability and knowledge carried out in an exemplary way. Also, he seems mature enough and old enough to understand and handle the responsibility.
2. Volcove99 - Yeah, he's Volcove. He definitely seems well respected around the community, as that guy who's been friend listed by all the people who have me friend listed. He has proven himself capable of mapping in the Summer 2005 Tournament (though that wasn't UMS), and I have seen some of his other work.
3. LegacyWeapon - He's already working here as well. As with DT_BK, I would keep him in the position of tutorial manager. Perhaps advancement for him should instead manifest in a trial modship of the Assistance forums, where his tutorials would most apply.

LegacyWeapon - Maybe we can move you up in this way.
PCFredZ - Young, willing and able. Though he can seem immature at times, he certainly could handle a job like that.
MrrLL - He also is capable of handling the job. He's on my friend list and I know him very well, so I would reccomend him.
MiLlEnNiUmArMy - When you review all those maps, how can just approving them without comment be hard?
Slyence - If not modding, maybe here.
Screwed - A well mannered old timer.

Anyone else find it slightly amusing the person hiring can't spell hiring?

I don't find my bad spelling amusing. And i'm not really the one doing the hiring ... unless your not talking about me.

PS. I'll do some more research like stuff later right now i have homework whee.

MrrLL also already has bot access and I haven't heard much in terms of abuse, so that adds to proof of trustworthy and good mannered.

Melee Applicants:
My choice is Cheeze out of the applicants mentioned. Cheeze like moose said already mods the melee section and he runs the bot.
Both Mini Moose and DTBK has indicated can’t trust MilleniumArmy’s Acitivitey. Yoshi mentioned Yenku but he does have a 60% warning level and to me he seems full of himself, and doesn’t know how to say negative stuff without insulting. Also his participation in the FireKame attack really lowered my opinion of him. Anyone disagree?

Modding:
I don’t know much about this one Voyager74566(MM) is quite active and knowledgeable. If you look at the MM clan he is more than the leaders do here. He made the request for the forum and made the Memberlist thread. Slyence appears to be less active but still pretty active at SEN. To me it is a toss up between those two if I had to pick I would choose Voyager7456

Use Map Settings:
I wouldn’t consider Volcove99 Judgeing by his application he has no modivation for the job. He also isn’t very active.
So I would consider ither MP)3 or Legacy. Both of them are equally mature and both experienced mapmakers. Legacy has had a history of being more active and it would also be convieant having him being Tutorial Database manager and UMS Leader. Those two sections kinda go side by side. However if he is given the job of Download Database Keeper you shouldn’t give him this job as well. Legacy is already Tutorial Database Keeper, and (U) Leader.

I think a lot of this is simply trial and error. By looking at the people Moose listed I would choose Legacy PCFredZ and MrLL. Activity and intrest in playing UMS is the main factor here. How respected or mature a member is holds little relevance in my opinion.
DTBK listed Slyence so to me it is between those 4.
