The project leader said it played too much like Halo and not enough like Splinter Cell, so they scraped it and started from page 2.

The game's release is TO BE ANNOUCED (TBA) It's from a reliable source not some crap site from google. But this is getting ridculos, it was planned 2003, 2 years later we still don't know when it's coming out, but it switch devolpers at one point I think.

There's a pretty good chance that that date may very well be the release date.
WoW was released on something like November 23rd, there were people since the summer already knowing the release date way before Blizzard announced it.
Remember that Blizzard tends to get involved a lot with fansites, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave this type of information.
Heck, Blizzard already gave away WoW patch 1.8 changes to some sites before they announced what was going to be worked. The recently released patch 1.7 had it's notes already flowing in the web about 2 weeks before.
