I had this idea a while back and today I decided to code it. Basically what it does is captures the games which are created on battle.net and stores it in a database. A simple php script then takes the data from the database and sums up the # of times each map has been created.
The games which are created the most being the most popular maps being played on b.net right now.

Thats hot. Does it like reset daily? Or does it collect over time?
I think there should be like 2 things. Like top maps played overall in say the past month or week, and like top maps being played more recently.

I just started up a few moments ago but I can get it to collect over time and from there we can make a bunch of other statistics.
Right now it kinda impares my ability to use my computer since it's actively scanning stuff from starcraft.. I'll have to make it so that it can run in the background if it's going to be something that I'll keep going constantly.

I am going to make a feature to remove korean gamenames and also sort maps alphabetically.. get that in there soon.

I'll logon to east and do that side for a bit.
The sharp incline which you can see on the graph is when I connected to US East. Apparently on east they play way more UMS.

I actually have that information being stored in the database.. I could possibly make a feature where you can click on anyone of the map listings and it will list when the game was created and by whom.
