Does StormCoast-fortress.net allow people to link to the downloads on it?
So i can let people download your program from my website without me having to waste space on it.

If not, do i have permission to upload the scmdraft2 file on my website?

You can link to the download page where it lists the mirrors, but not to the download itself, the latter option is blocked by most downloads.

To the mirror list? Theres one mirror.
I just link to that one?

So i can't link to the file itself?

Then what about permission to put it up on my website with full updates in .zip format?

I'm not going to stop you from doing that, however I dont like it cause then you end up having old versions scattered all over the net, and everyone who downloads it just ends up redownloading the new version or thinking its buggy...

whats the big deal with linking to the page with the download link on it?

It doesnt seem as professional to my way of thinking.
www.staredit.net uses it, as do all the big-time starcraft websites that actually have the file.
Plus i visit www.staredit.net regularly and am quite experienced in updating scmdraft2.

I wont list your errors in posting that, but i am quite serious about this.
No worthless posts please.

What isn't professional is remote linking, linking to the download page is perfectly fine.

The problem with that is so far, SI has to notify one person (Yoshi) to put up the new version download once it is completed.

However, if you and a few other people like yourself end up doing the same, then he will need to contact the entire number of people who want to just host it themselves.

Another thing is that SEN has much more viewers than misc. sites.

Yoshi and I agreed to have it hosted here because A: the download script here bugs out when linking to my site and B: I have his msn etc and always notify him about updates.
