Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> SCMDraft -> Anything still missing in scmdraft which SCXE has?

now with the scxe like trigger editor, is there anything you would like to see that is present in SCXE, or phrased another way, for what reasons do you use SCXE instead of scmdraft (assuming you do that)

Actually i can't think of anything scmdraft2 doesnt have, except for what extra editor has that scmdraft2 has unfinished or buggy.
Only reason i still use the X-tra Editor.
Mostly, i think you should focus on starforge.

And i think Ai scripts.. just remembered.
Not sure if u put them in though.

SCMD2 only has the Classic TrigEdit unfinished/buggy that SCXE has.

What does SF has that SCMD2 doesn't? SCMD2 pretty much trumps SF in anything. The only thing that SCMD2 is missing is custom brush support, yet I could think of a lot of things that SF doesn't have over SCMD2.

(Please note that the "quick color insert" feature only works for mission description and force colors, in-game it changes. So... moot point.)

I believe AI scripts are done.

New ones will never hurt 2.
After a point, the only thing SI will be able to add is AI scripts.
at the moment, hes not at that point tongue.gif

And i heard that on SF has the 9999+ life thing..
Sf has easier writing-style triggers for me to understand...
Things like that.

I have no idea what you were trying to say with the whole "after a point" thing, but if you look closely, AI scripts are there. Both in TrigEdit and in the Classic TrigEdit.

Also, how do you do the "9999+ life thing"? There's a decent chance that it's possible to do it in SCMD2 as well.

i prefer xtra-editor for now because of SCMDraft's buggyness, but if it werent buggy, it would b my top editor, anyways, what does Xtra editor hav that SCMDraft don't, well as far as i can think..., that sums it up

just bugs and custom brushes

FYI: starforge runs way too slow compared to others, then again starforge is totally built from scratch

First of all 3 editors are built off scratch (staredit, SCMD2, SF).

Now name a single bug wink.gif

SCMD2 really has no major bugs, and (possibly) very few tiny bugs that don't affect your maps at all.

The only thing that isn't completely polished up is the Classic TrigEdit, but that was only done just recently.

"then again starforge is totally built from scratch"
...and you think SCMD2 isn't?

Hmm, just something really really minor I'd like to add - in the string editor, a easy way to add colours. A list of codes down the side would be enough. Just because I'm too lazy to open a text file.

the in-game tags are <1> and <2> (blue) <3> (yellow) <4> (white) <5> (grey and cant be changed) <6> (red) <7> (green) <8> (invisible and cant be changed) <60> (<) <62> (>)

and the menu screen colors are <1> and <2> (blue) <3> (dark green) <4> (light green) <5> (grey and cant be changed) <6> (white) <7> (red) <8> (invisible and cant be changed)

He said he was 2 lazy to open a text file.

Renaming Switches. I need to be able to do this to be able to keep track of my switches. I miss count them a lot and it screws my map.

Also string recycling support in scmd. Like if you change the units name it changes the string not creates a new one.

The text support is nice 2.

Working briefing editor. Could be classic to tongue.gif . But at least Draft is only completely friendly editor(does not delete stuff). SF corrupts my map after 1st save, SCXE deletes sprites. I love Draft...

Switch renaming is being added to the classic trigger editor, as are mission briefings. Atm both are only possible in the advanced trigedit (DW's)

String recycling is already being done automatically as is string splitting after editing names / strings

Use the advanced trigedit for now then to rename em:)

Whats the Advanced Trigedit?? Oh and is there anyway you could make locations colored by using the unknowns in the location thingy. So you could better organize them. This would also be useful for grouping on the location tree.
