As you no doubt already know i need some quests for my new map. It is set back in the Mythical times and the quests need to be according. Any ideas are welcome!

Well.... It would help if I knew more about the map...
But missions are usually categorized into
1) Assault Missions--Take control of a castle or area
2) Rescue Missions--These are different from assault in the fact that you do not take over the places, just get in, get the people, and get out, as fast as possible.
3) Gather Missions--Find, in a fairly large area, some usable items or something with a purpose. For axample it could be an Item/spell or an army slowly built up. There is usually something trying to syop you from getting these things gathered, so make them important.
4) Deployment Missions--The opposite of gather, you need to bring items/spells/people to a certain place and leave them, for some important reason. These are stupid if you do not build the story heavily around them.
5) Go-To Missions--These are the basic missions, good for introducing a story. Get from (A) to (B), but avoid (X).
6) Contact Missions--Go to from (A), Find (B), and return to (A). Only good if you have a fixed base area, usually. These can be hard to make fun. Perhaps a diferent way to return to (A).
7) Search and Destroy Missions--Go from (A) to (B), kill (B), and return to (A) or some "safe haven."
8) Escort Missions--There are way too many of these than there should be, and way too few good ones out of that many... whatever that means... anyhow this is a lot like a go-to mission only it is not you safety that you are caring about, it is a convoy or something that must be protected but cannot do so by itself. It should be something large to be fun, or if it is only 1 or 2 things/people than there should be multiple ways to protect them.

Mythical times, as in medieval? setting would help too, and what sorts of foes would one be facing?
Yes myhtical as in medieval. Some heros would include: Dragonslayer, Psionic, and the Burning Warrior. Some foes: Goblins, Bow Scout, and Burrowing Beast. Some bosses: Goblin Chief, Dragon Lord, and Sniper Ambush. But you'll have to figure them out for your self....

What xmotleyx said is good, but try to involve some story into his ideas if it's for an RPG, instead of just having the text display "serach and destory!"
I'm going 2 work up to it. I'm not just going to put in a minimap ping and tell the players to get there, without a story or explination behind it! that would not look very good in any map! Also i'm putting this on hold asi have broken my wrist and can barley move the mouse.
have different split routs if you can like if you do this this or this can happen get what i mean..
its hard but makes it a lot more fun.
btw is it a mulitplayer game or single??
and yes xmotleyx has all the stuff in it expect maybe just make some random plots and stuff out of it..
it is multi because single would be boring for this. 3 players, lots of baddies, and ummm.......... some stuff.

every rpg game i've played for starcraft, you were "good", helping the people...
i want to choose my path, like morrowind or fable... i can't wait for Oblivion on the xbox 360
i was plannibg on putting in multiple paths by using a system id devised awhile back. even though it takes up space and triggers, it will still be limited, as in to 13 choices at the most. Beacuse of the 14 action.......thingy

anyway there if i do use this there will be multiple outcomes and many ways to progress through the game
