Well, if you have a program like MUSICMATCH, I know you can convert files into .wav. Did you simply download the file online?

Use itunes, simply go to prefrences, and under the advanced catagory, change your import setting to what you would like to make the audio file into. Then simply click 'convert to wav' when you have the audio selected in itunes.

Uhh, no?
You probably have a skimpy trial version if that is so.

ADDITION:
Open MUSICMATCH, then go to File, then to Convert File, then choose the recording (mp3) then choose the destination folder and have the file as wav.

If it's a midi file, then you "need" a midi2wav converter or use SONAR4 or any other sound recording program. And if you so happen to have used a midi, don't, midi's sound a bit too synthetic.
