Here's a news item I submitted a while ago. This time I changed the tenses a little to make it seem less like the DLDB is about to go kabloom.
QUOTE
A week ago, the DLDB experienced some problems.
A great number of maps awaiting approval *magically* disappeared from the Approval menu, and end up in a section I will refer to as the WTF pile. Files in the WTF pile are still salvageable: that is, they can be downloaded by me and the other DLDB keepers. However, it appears they have become disconnected from the rest of the site's SQL stuff (I'm not familiar with that personally) and, therefore, no longer have the original Submitter/Creator/Description/Category/Screenshot information along with the maps themselves.
There is one way to know if one of your maps ended up in the WTF pile. If you submitted a map, have not seen it approved, yet did not receive a PM telling you the map was denied, it's EXTREMELY likely your map ended up in the WTF pile. Do not panic; as I stated earlier, they're still there. However, there does not appear to be an easy way to simply fix the database from our end; therefore, it is recommended that you resubmit all maps you believe to have ended up in the WTF pile.
Any suggestions on rephrasing stuff or whatever? I'd like this to be in the News ASAP, because quite a few maps ended up in the WTF pile. It should cover the little errors long enough for us to figure out how to revise the DLDB in the long run.
