Moo. I didn't see myself having to post a big formal thing like this, but it seems my only choice. Now, a lot of you have been wondering what exactly has been going on SEN lately. Between the rumors floating around and the server downtimes and a bunch of other stuff that really comes as no suprise. Personally, I feel it better to stop being all cloak and dagger about it and give you a clear picture of what's going on at SEN now.

First off, there was a remor that Yoshi is gone. Yes, this is true. I know you don't like it. Same here. While he wished to gradually "fade out", it isn't possible, and I'm throwing it out there for you. I'll keep the reasons why he left personal because he wanted it that way, but this is the source of a lot of the disruption and shifting going on here.

Next, the UMST. It was a good idea. But, from what I see, nobody is playing it, and the person running it is gone. The UMST is canceled, and I apologize to anyone upset by this news. There will be future tournaments, don't worry.

Another remnant of Yoshi, the "Section Leaders". I hate to say it, but I don't understand the job or what it was created, thus they're unecessary for me. I will, however, be shifting the top applicants into moderator positions. CheeZe, if you didn't notice, already moderates the two melee sections. Voyager7456(MM) will be moderating the modding forums. LegacyWeapon will be taking moderator spots on the UMS forums.

Speaking of changes in moderators, Clokr_ has retired as a global mod. Kame_da_Sniper has retired from moderation. Entropy is no longer modding the news forums (or doing whatever job he had. I'm not too sure tongue.gif). I would like to thank these poeple for their contributions and I will say it will be very hard to find substitutes for you.

And, that's all I have for now. You can bet a lot will going on as we sort things out, but we'll deal with those eventually. Good luck, and have fun adapting to this semi-post-apocalytpic community. tongue.gif

Long live SEN, however many replacements occur.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Atreyu) on 2005-10-05 at 15:16:39
So this means that there will be replacements for the moderators that have left?

If I knew, I'd tell you. I don't want campaigns, politics, popularity contests, and people acting phony because they think they can earn some power. People have left but we don't need vultures. Show some respect for the fallen instead of clamoring for an inheritance at a funeral.

If SEN is dead, why do you waste your time on a dead site? Leave already instead of dragging us down, we don't need this crap, and a smaller community is easier for us to manage.

wow why would yoshi leave sad.gif

and SEN will never die whoever says that should burn

I agree with violent! If you think SEN is dying then it is already dead. You have to keep faith with SC!

Old or not, starcraft is still one of the best games ever created. Starcraft and/or Broodwar have still a long time to go, and the same with Staredit.net. Even if starcraft dies, that does not mean we cannot be a community and we will just give up helping people in map making. There will still be people that need our help and assistance, and we will continue providing that.

SEN is not dying. If you think it is, you're not very smart. You just believe that everything will die because of a few moderators are leaving? Most of them have been truly "gone" for a few months now anyways. Clokr I haven't seen very active since May/June. Yoshi hasn't really been active either, besides make a few news topics here and there. Meh, same with other mods.

Moose will make a great administrator. He is very wise and I'm sure he can handle the job. He always had the leadership in him.
Pretty soon we will see «–Mini Moose 2707–».

I hope no one makes those "remember Yoshi_da_Sniper" signatures again, that was so goddamned moronic.

It won't die. I appreciate what Yoshi did by creating this site and all, but his departure won't mean the end of it. Also, I doubt the whole "starcraft is old" thing has much to do with Yoshi leaving. I'm sure he's leaving because of reasons other than starcraft's age. He seems like a cool guy, but I don't really know him so I can't be that upset by him leaving. I'm sure he'll be leaving the site in capable hands. This reminds me of when I retired from being a guild master on WOW a couple of months ago. That was a sob fest.

Good luck at whatever, Yoshi.

I feel like making a tribute to Yoshi, yay! Kidding. wink.gif

anyways, it's good to see new blood on the moderator team, and I wondered what happened to Kame, probably her and Yoshi went off and got married. yawn.gif Happy wishes. It's sad to see Clokr_, Kame, Entropy and Yoshi to go though.

Just because SEN might be gone by the end of this year doesn't mean that Stacraft will be. There are more sites, such as gosugamers.net (which isn't only Starcraft, but it used to be and the SC section is big and has lots of news about tournaments, etc.).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Infested-Jerk on 2005-10-05 at 16:36:24
Not surpirizing that he left. He's been pissed off too much recently, as teh swear filter, multiple things on rules and regulations, and the horrible down times would show.

Surprized that kame, Clokr and Entrophy resigned.... though.

SEN is a pretty big resource site for map makers alike,to talk and discuss, I really don't see that over at gosugamers.net. SEN's demise will be a stepping stone to Starcraft's eventual destruction.

I don't think Entropy resigned. He was rarely, if ever active at SEN. He's got much bigger things to worry about and plans for the future.

I actually expected this would happen, as some others did. Also, this is only natural, after all, who actually dedicates their whole life to Starcraft? The cycle is that people will eventually get tired of the game and quit and are replaced by others. Anyways, farewell Yoshi.

I'd like to say my opinion very plainly. I think Yoshi is a fool.

As founder of this site what the hell was he thinking he could just "fade out" and leave. What is wrong with formally announcing that he is leaving? As a supporter of Yoshi I am VERY disappointed at the way he left. It just really makes me think less of him.

As for Kame retiring as a mod I had no idea and I'm surprised and sad.

when u said clokr_ and kame retired from moderating, do you mean there still here just not as mods? or are they gone from map making?
