hey guys
A little while me and my pal came up with the idea of a time travel rpg and iwanted to see what you guys think about it.
the general idea of the game would be about traveling through different time eras to try to capture the world's most infamous terrorist.
There will be up to 9 different time periods, each quite distinct. Depending on how sucessful you are, you will go through certain "time zone trees" every time you play.
the story line goes as follows:
WW3, which lasted for 7 years, has been over for 5 years. However, due to the massive destruction of infrastructure and smallscale use of nuclear weapons, the world population and economy is still recovering. It was discovered shortly after the world ended that the opening hostilities of the war were intiated by the leader( codenamed: Agent Zero) of the most infamous terroist organization in an effort to weaken world militaries. He has just recently been rooted out and captured but his terrorist cells remain active throughout the world. Currently he is on route to a more secure prison location in Capital City.
of course he will be broken out of prison by his terrorists and will proceed to steal the control system for the top-secret highly expermimental. Then you, the commander of an anti-terrorism taskforce will have to hunt him down through time, capture him and return him to your own time period.
The primary idea of the map was to have a larger map than 256 x 256 by "recycling" the terrain and replacing the buildings and such.
some of the features will be:
-randomized opening scenes + objectives
-a fully working transit system in the opening time period with 2 lanes of traffic
-ability to go to different time periods depending on your success and failure
note: you will be comanding a small taskforce, not a single unit
***************************************
my other idea is a variation on the gunship RPG game.
If you never played it before it is a aircraft style game where there is a pilot that commands an aircraft and a crewmember the has control of bombs and missiles that the aircraft can fire. this game essentially adds more realism and depth to aircraft warfare.
my idea will be much the same, except missile and bomb control will be controlled by the pilot(no crew members) and there will be even more realism with a stall feature incorporated, forcing the pilot to keep the aircraft moving, like in real life.
there will also different branches of aircraft to use(air-superiority fighters, bombers etc) and there will even be transports, allowing players to use ground troops if they prefer. There will be only one aircraft per player and fuel limits.
I don't ahve an idea for a story yet but the general purpose would be to destroy the enemy base using bombers or ground troops with fighter aircraft to defend them.
However, the base will be too far to initailly hit with bombers but there will be smaller airfields that have to be captured until the bombers can reach the primary base. There won't be a lvl up system persay but they will get experience that will be used up as they attend "schools" to allow them to use more sophisicated aircraft.
Features:
-stall(not applicable when attacking other air units or when landed at an air field)
-different branches of aircraft (fighters, transports, bombers)
-new? experience system
-airstrips needed to land
so tell me what you guys think, how it can be improved, great ideas, crappy ideas, if you want to help etc
