I'm thinking of making wavs for music that we can use on SC, without having to take them from some game.

I was trying to go for battle music, so tell me what you think! smile.gif

(Notes: it's 1:28, and 1.85mb long. I don't get why it's so freaking big. pinch.gif )

I like it.

Actually, a few hours after I was listening to it, I started humming the music and then paused, thinking "where's this from..."

Sounds Amateurish. Because it is. PWNT!

Just kidding, I didn't really like it though.

haha voyager... that's rich! biggrin.gif

Darn.. was it too hazy or something Kow? What do you think was wrong with it?

I do admit that it would sound much better with 3 other instruments in the background though, because it would sound more complete.

Zomg something that's not rock that I can give a real opinion of!

Since the flutes around where I live are really good it sounds rather amateur, rather breathy and I can hear you miss a key here and there. The tempo also isn't completely steady. I like the initial concept music however.

Haha I really enjoyed it!! It seems too plain to be a battle theme. If you had some background music...or something along those lines it would fit PERFECTLY!! It's like singing a song with no music in the back, isn't gonna work. Good work I can't wait to hear more!!

Yeah, I made up the tone that day and didn't have time to solidify it into my mind, so I was still partially improvising. I have a piano downstairs, and I'm spending a little time on it to get it perfected in my mind.

Oh, and the tempo was going faster on purpose: to add more oomph; it seems my breathy notes killed that purpose. pinch.gif

Actually.. if I can hit my notes firmly, I won't need a background. But, I know what you mean that it would sound better with percussion or having a base instrument doing a steady rhythym in the background.

Soon i'll be making my revised version of this; I'll try to make it sound better next time. wink.gif

Gah!!!!!
My sister plays flute and has for the past 4 years, and that sound drives me crazy.

But it did get stuck in my head for a little bit.

Because there's no compression. Convert it to an mp3 if you want to be be smaller.

It sounds like you're inhaling every other note... I don't think you should ever play it again unless you practice and get those high pitched squeeks out of there (the ones you make everytime you inhale and try to get a note off in quick succession). I dunno, work on it =/ (obviously take my opinion with a grain of salt).

Or just go with something like Anvil Studio and make MIDIS! W00t!

Really, though. You have a good idea...a midi composer just makes the thing a heck of a lot easier...just not a good-sounding. You should search cnet downloads for anvil and give it a spin.

Yay flute players! bwa ha ha

It sounded sorta like a speeded up kinda crappier version of some oriental music (no offense). I didn't really like it (sorry). If you keep working at it and mix in other instruments it'll get better.

You can't use MP3 in SC, so that is why he did not compress it -_-

I don't think you can use MIDI's in SC, either -_-

WAV is the only thing that SC uses that I know of.

And this is without backdoor crap -_-

ROFLMAOOOO!!!
I used to play a flute too ;P

But that song is kinda simple... and plus doesn't sound like a battle.

It's funny anyway ;P
