Anybody play Rome Total war? I use Greece!
That game is so fun!
I also have Barbaric Invasions.. Whoever else has it tell me.

I've only played a bit of it at my friends house but his computer is not good so the game runs slow. I was laughin very hard when in the movie before the game, the ladders just go up on the walls by an imaginary force and how the men have pointed legs. But the game itself is pretty fun, has a lot of tactics on how some units are better than others and your formation of your men can decide the oucome of the battle.

Yeah, I find you need to be smart in order to win, although playing against computers is pretty easy.

Rome is an awesome game.

own both, beat both.... Pwn most people. Usually play friend to friend instead of over internet since it goes faster. I usually am the Macedonians... they pwn all, even the romans after marius reforms if you know how to use them.

Screw the Phalanx, they are so easy to flank with calvary.

if all you use are those two, i will own you. Spartans are actually quite easy to kill off. Calvary which I make use of easily overpowers them from the sides/behind while i have a phalax in front.I usually have LARGE arrow formation moving with horses on the sides to prevent a flank, and about 4 units of horses in the rear to quickly overturn a rear attack. Archers stay in the middle to rain fire among my enemies as I enclose on them. Thank you come again.

P.S. You can't flank a phalax if they have another phalax on the side of them. Your liable to be outflanked yourself.

Well, I sort of play 2v2 and I set up defensively to prevent flanks.
I usually beat most Rome users anyways.

rome for me got repeative. Owning everyone, then in single player once you got into the deserts. Since they were so large you would spend turns upon turns just walking through. Also the AI was always so scared to attack me or ambush me. I mean wheres the fun in always attacking. Though I used to have this awesome picture of me defending athens against an army of macedonians 3 times larger then me when i was the brutii. I had like 1200 men they have 3600 or something. The picture was of the massacre at the front gate after they rammed it. They tried a massive horse attack through it. Half of their army was horsemen. I had phalaxes waiting for them and roman soldiers on the flanks of the gate. Along with roman archers on the top of the gate and along the walls. Also my hastati were throwing their spears at them. Lets just say there had to be thousands of horses because you couldn't see the ground.

P.S. Athens has stone walls. With stone walls comes boiling fire from the gate.

I wish the multiplayer had more then custom battles.
If they could work out a way to make it on a map, It would be so cool.

Well I hate you; the game is pretty entertaining if you ask me.

On the BBC here in Britain, they used to have a TV show based on the game. They'd get teams of people in to act as generals for the human team, and have them plan strategy and stuff.

Then they had to play a really tough AI which won nearly every time.

Good game, but I wish it was available for Mac.

I think it was called "Decisive Battles"
or "Decisive Victories"

This game is really old... you cant even buy it. (at least where i am, i dont know where you guys are) there are alot of better tatical games.

Played it at a friends house. Abit slot, but it looked just pure awesome. I own Medieval Total War and i enjoy that alot.
