You know how the 360 comes in two versions: one without the HD for $300 and one WITH the HD for $400?
The harddrive is better deal without a doubt, since it retails for $100.
What I was thinking is that, the 360 could REMOVE the memory card ports completely, so that the 360 completely relies on the harddrive.
So I'm suggesting instead of those 2 models, there could be one model, WITH the harddrive, except that there would be no memory card ports, since it's being saved to the hard drive anyway...
With that function removed, I'm sure it could save both Microsoft and gamers money, so the final price could be less than $400.
Besides, how many Xbox owners here actually BOUGHT a memory card?
Well the slots have use for mics... I don't own a memory card since my HD has like infinite memory... (I save huge files and stuff and my memory doesn't go down, wierd).
Yeah this is really stupid. I mean you can't even leave the store without paying for at least $340 dollars. The $300 dollar pack (Core Pack) is something that would attrach moms because of the lower price only to be greated by a yell from their kids.
I'm getting premnium (I can't spell) it's a better deal.
The memory cards is only useful to copy files onto other X-Boxes.
It's a ripoff to buy the $400 pack, especially for someone like me who can go out and buy a wireless controller than have everything that comes with the $400 deal for $320 and then have room for a hard drive that would actually be useful (20 gigs? what!?).

Well, you have to get a memory card, which is $40 anyway, so the real package is only $60 more.
Also, you can NOT play Xbox games without a HD.
Why would they give you the option of getting one WITHOUT the hard drive then?
Either way, getting the package without the hard drive gives you the freedom of putting in a bigger hard drive at less cost to you.

I see your point, but that's only if you have the patience to wait for a bigger hard drive, or IF a bigger hard drive will even be made.
Now I see an actual reason to stick with the Core system. However, you do not know two important things: WHEN the bigger harddrive comes out or IF a bigger harddrive will come out.
You can always put in a larger hard drive. Whether its with a mod or just directly (microsoft could be using a regular hard drive enclosed in a plastic case) you will always be able to get your own hard drive in there.
I have heard there is a new operating system coming out by Microsoft. It will be Xbox360 compatible, probably being able to transfer game core saves between your Xbox360's HDD and your PC's HDD, saving space and crap on your Xbox. Thus eliminating the use for memory cards... but a port for a Xbox Live Microphone is an absolute requirement.
what he meant by not being able to play xbox games w/o HD is that you won't be able to play the old xbox games w/o it. Also the FF game will need it. Other games will just use it if you have it.
I don't care if they're ripping you off, New computers itself costs too much and you still need some extra hardwares on your computer, besides, how can you repair your own xbox 360?
I have lots of money (From my job..) to even buy playstation 3 and Gamecube: Revolution, Big and Wide Screen T.V., and all those entertainment stuff.
Each xbox 360 item is useful, even a video game.
Besides, even if xbox 360 is a ripoff or not, it can handle Unreal Engine 3 like computers can which is over the thousands.
I did some research and found out that the harddrive can be removed and moved to another xbox360! Thats 20GB of portable saved games, who needs memory cards!?
The fact is, People were downloading Xbox Games throught Their PC, Install The Xbox HD on their Computer and add the Game on It and Play for free. So what would you buy? A cheap Memory Card Or a HD?
Microsoft just want to make money

If they wanted to make more money, they wouldn't be selling the console at a loss and they wouldn't be giving you the option of a package with a hard drive. (which is ripping you off too, because the stuff they give you isn't worth $100)
They will be making money off the games and accessories, etc.
