Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> Is Starcraft Dieing!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-10-19 at 23:21:27
Over the past while I have came to the final conclusion that Starcraft has passed its median play time. It is dieing and will not live more than 5 more years, max and thats cutting it close. By dead i mean the current state that wc2 or diablo are in with less than 5000 active players and no tech support.

I came to the conclusion when I was looking at the data I saw in my newspaper. The percentage of people to start playing starcraft has dropped insanely. The amount of people who currently play it has been dropping and blizzard is offering less and less support of the game. It's even getting less popular in Korea.

I know this may sound far fetched but eventually it will be down to a low ass amount of people. The only sure fire way I know for a game is by a sequal coming out. But who knows we all shall see.

Now post what you think about this. Is this a load of bull? or is there some truth behind what I am saying. Say whatever you want.

Partially in thanks to Korea

well people are going to get tired of playing the same things over and over again... that is unless people can keep making awesome and original maps like mario kart battle.

Well I believe that it's in a lul right now because of the winter. Everyone is busy with school and such, (at least I am) and have postponed new map creations.
(I you want to know I have several that will probably be released next spring. All original and godly, if I might add.)

Starcraft is old, and most of the non newbs are leaving because a person can't play video games forever, they have to go to college and such.

Okay, it could be slightly declining. It isn't dead and we do not need another topic on this.

Yes I agree on this. Its slightly declining now but within 3 years there will be a huge drop off. Its inevitable and notice how i put it will be dead within "5" years so yeah.

on a side note i will be the one to close my topic thank you.
