Ok, i made my first map and its kinda like the fastest maps but different. But whenever i host a game, people cant join because it says my latency is too high. I have tested the map out in single player and it works fine. And its only the maps that i make that say the latency is too high because any other map lets people join. Idk what it could be all i did was make it 128x128, 50 stacked minerals close to the start area, and vespane gaysers next to each other like the fastest maps. Im using the starforge 2.2 editor but i dont know if that would be the problem. can anyone help me?
It sounds like a router is killing the connection. Where are you playing and are you using any kind of router/firewall? Starcraft needs certain ports open for the game and those may be blocked.
Shouldn't this be in Map Making Assistance?
It has nothing to do with maps, people not being able to join his game is the problem.
I thought he said it was only on one specific map and that all his others worked fine?
If that's the case then it could be a map-related problem.
Well then this is a simple case of HIGH LATENCY which i still have to discover how to overcome.(i don't have it but i did and don't know how or why it went away..)
The usual fix for bad latency is to join a game which you do not have the map for. Once you've downloaded it, your latency should be fine.
It used to work for most people, but I haven't been on b.net for a long time so I don't know if things have changed.
