Me and my friend were discussing Star Wars on this very peculiar evening, and I wish to know your opinion.

Which is the better made series? The Clone Wars? Or the Galactic Empire?

I'm with the Old School baby! Galactic Empire rulez. Period.

You think the answer would be obvious. The Galactic Empire is much better then the new movies, hands down. Sure, you can have special effects and all that crap, but it doesn't replace good old authentiticty.

Books are always better. Period.
And movie wise I liked the Galactic empire, but story wise I liked the Clone wars.

(Although the clone wars movies had crazier battle scenes, they were short and had no dialog.)

The Empire Series. My favorite movie among them being "The Empire Strikes Back." I think George Lucas shoulda left the old movies alone. In fact, I think that he should be allowed a very limited budget on whatever project he's involved in. I've noticed that the more money he has at his disposal, the cuter or zanier his movies get. With Episodes IV and V he had a limited budget and limited power, and I think that brought out the best in him. When he has 100 million+ dollars, then he adds cute furries or wacky robots or musical dance numbers to his otherwise serious movies.

Another thing I could do without in the recent movies is the political commentary in them. While I mostly agree with his political opinions, I don't think they belong in a fantasy epic. If I want politics, I'll watch the news. I go to movies in order to escape that sort of crap. Watch them more closely (especially episodes II and III) and you'll see what I mean.

Kellimus, do any of your friends think the Clone Series was better? If so, then you need to give them a biznatch slap for me, okay? LOL

The three old movies owns. I havent seen Episode 3 yet, but Im sure it cant beat the old movies. Episode 6 is the best The bears are so funny

I'm just bummed that he's not making the 7-9 episodes

I personally like the ships, special effects, battles etc. from the Clone Wars series.

But in terms of the whole movie, the Galactic Empire wins.

I liked Episode III, except for the reason why Anikan went to the dark side.

Wow, that was easy.

My favorite by far was the revenge of the sith. I don't even classify it with episodes I and II because the simply sucked. I didn't like V either, too hyped up and the sword fighting was just cheesey. Episode VI got better but episode VII took the cake. If they would've left the fight scenes on kashyyyk it would be my favorite instead. GO WOOKIEES! So to sum it up, the old saga was better, but not by much.

I liked them all pretty equaly well except maybe episode III where my friend kept laughing at the dumbest parts that were not funny and screwd up the movie. Yoda looks cooler in the older ones though.

I don't see how you can say that, It's like comparing kermit the frog and the team america marionettes. The new Yoda looked much better. [/opinion]

Since CG graphics don't always enhance the experince, it's just nostalogic.

Episode 3 was crap. all special effect and no plot. Original trilogy rulz.

Well yeah, that was my opinion too. Maybe it is just because I am used to seeing the older yoda that I cannot accept this new one.

i liked the 3rd, 4th 5th...yeah basically the oldschool ones and the 3rd...
heck, all of starwars movies were great! dunno...

Mainly cause i love the battles it has. The first series owned! but i like the clone wars alot better. (more action)

The Grand Admiral Thrawn trilogy.

'Nuff said.

Truely a good trilogy, but unfortunantly the thrawn trilogy never made it to what we're talk about. The canonical movies.

And God, smite George Lucas for me if he turns the Thrawn Trilogy into episodes 7, 8, and 9, because they won't be nearly as good.

There are not going to be anymore movies from Lucas at this time. Except Indiana Jones.

I'll be sure to do that next time I'm hanging out at skywalker ranch.
