Ok. Basically you have a town inside an rpg. Instead of moving the unit to some other location when they enter a building, you have the building insides in the town. But over the top of the building there are lifted terran buildings. You can click on them and they read what building it is under them, until you walk in, then they cloak and you can see through them. (or they are just removed) When you exit the building the roof gets replaced.

Oh I see, kinda like diablo buildings ?? =/
Sounds like a nice idea, but pretty simple..

wont be enough space inside the building then and it would take too much space if you made it have a big space

______________
|.......................|
|.......................|
|.......................|
|.......................|
|.......................|
|_____________|

compared to

......__________
..../................./
../................../.|
/__________/...|
|......__.......|.../
|.....|...|......|../
|___|...|......|/

takes up about the same space on a map, but the inside of the building of the bottom one would be like 1/3 the size of the top one

ya.

o-0: It would take the same amount of space, I'm talking about only using isom. The building shapes would be the same, simply they would have roofs.

well using isom teraain, maybe like temple like this:

________
/ ____ /
/ / / /
/ / / /
/_/ /_/

then hav the lifted off building over it, then just remove and recreate or cloak, and once they get in, have a location or sumtin, then it moves to a location with a beacon saying enter and a beacon saying leave. if they choose leave its obvious, if they choose enter, it bruings to a place with like 8 beacons labeled choice, then it goes through text for options then they select. could work quite well actually and wave on space, or use sqr terrain and do same thing...

hope i helped tongue.gif

That'd be pretty cool, but that would work?

tell you the truth that is cool to think of it now..

but you have to do it good i guess or will look real messy...

It would have to be done with some version of a mobile grid system that was not perfectly up and down but isom shaped..
I'm not sure which would look like that.

i tried it and u cant create a lifted off building with triggers if it cant be landed in that spot, dam SC and its limits, well maybe using a tileset editor and editing a buikldable tearrin to lok like it has the walls so the building can b created, then include the tilset in the mpqs which could make big download, but could work

You can create them somewhere else, then move them into position. Which is what I had in mind to begin with, simply move them away when you enter then move them back when you leave. Unless you want to cloak them. pinch.gif

You could always modify the units properties with triggers to get it cloaked if needed.

to modify with triggers u would need EUD actions cuz i dont think cc can be disabled, or maybe it can, can someone chk

I use SCXE and you can create buildings while flying.
Just use create units with properties and check in transit. If you can do it in SCXE you should be able to do it in StarForge.

lol, i guess, so make the outline of builg\ding with sqr terrain, and create buildings in transit above
