[center]As long as all the required files are there, it'll run. I believe the required files to be: Brood War Data, Local, SEditENU, Starcraft Data, Storm, EditLocal, and the normal SC patch. May be different on PC.

EDIT: Don't you hate it how letters that spell entirely different words are next to eachother?

No, you can't (nor SCXE, for that matter) if you have uninstalled the game afterwards. But you can open it in SCMDraft 2 adn the differences to me are minimal (not considering the new layout looks addaptation). wink.gif
You can open the original map editor (aka StarEdit), even if you don't a SC CD inside the drive. And if you possess a BW CD, you still can play the game.
Or even better, ask one of your friends for it's SC CD and make a copy of it. The only catch is that when you're installing it, you'll have to use your own CD-Key. That will work and it's legal (since you already have bought a original copy once before).

Edit add: Alas, have 'lost' (borrowed, they scratched, yada yada) the game CD's for 3 times now and finally have learned to keep a backup copy image of'em inside my laptop. That works like a charm, I might add. happy.gif
When lending my SC-BW I install it in that close friends' PC, but I don't provide the CD-Key, tell him/her to not go onto B.Net before warning me and only leave copies that he/she will return after playing all he wanted. With that process all friends that I have borrowed SC bought an original of their own shortly after returning my copies (which were always made in a CD-RW format, for me to delete'em easily).

I dont think you quite caught the drift here basan..

But yeh like nuclear said, if you copy the files he mentioned onto your laptop, staredit should run.

Just out of curiosity, which editor are you trying to run on the laptop?

No? From what I read of his post, he hasn't SC installed in the laptop nor seems that he can (even if he had the SC CD) since that PC appears to only allow him user previledges. And since you must install SF for it to work as well, it's a dead deal imo. Therefore, suggesting him to get SCMDraft 2 is better (since it doesn't requires an installation process). happy.gif

And yeah, now that I read it more carefully, to get an alternate copy of the SC CD isn't much of a solution. wink.gif
