For those of you who do not comprehend this word: Entrapment

I saw on the news in class here, that back east somewhere, they are entraping people with the internet.

They get young boys and girls, through the ages of 13-15, and they put them in a house, and have them purposly search out "Preditors"

To me, this is entrapment, and is wrong.

So my question to you guys: Is it wrong for people to purposely set people up, through blackmail, or how they did with this?



P.S. I've been entrapted. It sucks ass man. That is why I was on probation until I moved last August

I'm undecided. I think that it shouldn't be used if, say a hostage holder has the hostage do something illegal. The hostage should not be punished (As badly, depends on the crime)

But, in your case, I think that they're searching for the predators, not really luring them into doing something illegal. Or if they do lure them into doing illegal stuff, it should only be punished if it's a multiple offense crime. First offense, just a warning.

I'm all for it. We don't need any more sexual predators as it is, and getting rid of them can only help society.

I believe it's okay depending on the severity of the crime. If they're catching murderers, drug dealers, and child molesters, then I'm all for it. Of course, with smaller things like pot possesion, or downloading music, or those police road blocks where they ask for your liscence and insurance, then I think it's wasted resources. But I know that justice is blind. So entrapment must cover all areas of crime, however severe.

I would hate it if a real b*stard got off the hook because of an entrapment technicality. I know that really bad criminals do get off sometimes because of things like that, but I think if they were gonna do it anyways, then they probably deserve to be caught. But I really only feel that way about the serious criminals.

I think this should be in serious discussion.

Sexual predators are lame. They hardly have the cunning and agility of a real predator in the wild. It's cool to see a Cheetah tackle an Antelope, not cool to see some old guy molest a little girl.

i voted yes. if you even think about molesting young kids that is very sick and wrong. doing it over the computer is just pathetic.
i think that the people who get caught with entrapment should get a warning not any penalties.

Yeah okay, Imagine, you get caught for entrapement and get warned. What would you do? Restart again... Hey, you've been warned, Who give a Fark about "warning"? Then you restart... again and again, But it's not enough. You need to live it. So, you ask a little girl for a meeting...in the park... and molest her..

Now, If I give you a big penalty for entrapement. I believe that you wont restart.

I'm saying that if they do it again they would get a MAJOR penalty, not just another warning. (Or if they have a background of it, and they get entrapped, then penalty)

I'm not sure if the warning would be good for severe crimes, but downloading music (Which I think should be fixed, lower the CD prices, and we'll buy them), drug possession(minor drugs, underage alcohol/cigarettes, pot possession), or minor theft, then it should be a warning.

Also, I think that 'life' in jail shouldn't be 7 years then paroll. It should be LIFE God Damnit!

I think it's wrong if you force the kids to do it. If the kids want to do it and/or get paid then I'm fine with it.

Oh and about it being a wrong thing to do to sexual predators I say blam that. They shouldn't be doing that anyway. Anyway cops already do that.

This is a pretty grey argument. I can see many times when it's good, but I can also see even more times when it's bad.

yeah i see how molesting some1 can totally screw them up mentally for the rest of thier lives but i also see how it isnt really fair how the "preditors" get tricked purposely into it. i would see if its legal if they actually meet in the park or wherever and the preditor starts molesting the child. then the police would pop out and BAM staight to jail for the rest of your living life.

Second. Hell, I'd do almost anything for some extra cash and some more credibility with the rent a cops out there, but sitting in chat rooms all day to do it? I think every kid this generation wants in on this. (Not the smart ones, the ones that go onto freewebs, make an account with a templete, steal a bunch of ugly graphics and write "shoot ots" to all their "friends" and thinks they're the most awsome people in the world.) I am wondering if you think that Entrapment for ANYTHING is wrong.

Of course it's going to be "good" to entrap child molestors, but is it ethically moral?

Is it Ethically moral to entrap anyone?

I'm pretty sure most people are aware that they are doing something illegial when they are entrapped.

You must not understand Entrapment.

Entrapment is where they illegally put you into a situation, without YOUR knowledge...
