After seeing all these GTA maps and what not, I felt compelled to make a map
Basically, you play as newly hired police officers (because of incompetence from previous force) in a city trying to rid of all the crime, and most importantly, the Crime Lords that have taken control of the city.
For the most part, I'm not exactly sure what kind of 'format' to go by. The two I'm thinking up of are:
Open-ended/sim (not sure what else to call it):
Complete the main levels while doing whatever you wish/live life (sorta)
-or-
Level by level basis:
Complete levels one by one until you beat the map.
With open-ended, emphasis is probably on replay value.
With level by level, emphasis is more on gameplay.
Any suggestions as which to go by? If I could, I would do both, but that would require much more work. With college and all, it'd be hard.
i prefer open ended sim...you shouldve made it a poll
open ended sim here also
im making a new map also.. its similar to this but toally different in the same way lol

lol i'm making a life "sim" game. But i don't know if i'll finish it or post it in maps in productions, cause i want to make sure i can complete it first.
Meh i take long time to make my games but i always complete them dont work on them like everysingle day but like every week i do atleast man i should finsih them wont be to hard... but this sounds fun if it ever gets finished

ive seen alot of ppl that enjoy sim. on starcraft. i cant stand it, starcraft is shooting, killing, exploring, exploding, random, funness(not actually a word!). And by all means should stay that way. My opinion is going anti-sim on this 1. It also depends wut u mean by levels.
My vote is with Goliath. People on B.net play for speed, and many times just plain winning (REDUNDANT FRIGGIN' DEFENCE MAPS, I PWNZORYOU!)
Sorry if I haven't been keeping up with this post. I've been bombarded with college homework and it's only two more weeks till finals!
A level-by-level basis would be something on the line of a bound map. You beat one level, you go directly to other.
I slightly started working on the sim-ish type one but stopped after wondering if it would be fast enough.
I'm with retard goliath, StarCraft is crushing so, a SC map whit a life is... sensless... i mean, [COLOR=red] YOUR MAP MUST CONSIST IN ENNEMY CRASHING ONLY!
You should do open ended sim... I hate level by level and I love realism... so ya... open ended sim.
yea but open eneded is darn hard... and doesnt make sence a lot of time becusae sc is so limited

The hardest part about open ended sim is the terrain.... Not the triggers.
open ended would be better for this type of map.
People play games to stray from reality, by saying that you want to create a simulator defeats the whole purpose of playing a game (unless you are a really big nerd who has no life and plays sims all day and has every expansion, including "night life"). If you are planning on creating a simulation with open ended results, be sure to include fun as the first thing on the list. Fun is everything. You can have infinite possibilities, but if its infinite possibilities of the same outcome or same effect, why bother?
