Post ideas for our first production MOD here. I'm looking for a nice and simple thing that can be made quickly to test out the management systems here.

The best idea is one that encorporates a little of every field of modding. Everyone feel free to suggest, and Project Leads can give opinions on suggestions.

A "third-party-expansion" mod would be awesome. True, it's a little hard on th iscripters and graphics people, but it's pretty baisc otherwise. doesn't require anything fancy. Either that, or we could choose just to modify existing units na dgive threm new powers and abilites. Of course, this make ths grpahics team unecessary, so we should porbably do both. We should also get somebody like CheeZe or another melee guy to test the balancing.

I agree with Dr.Shotgun, I think a "third-party-expansion" type mod is the best way to go.

i agree, i would be 24/7 dedicating to graphics until tblwriter is needed but for now i can't and i'll use this post to announce that i won't be able to be in the SMT for the next two weeks starting from saturday, Because My dad wants me to go to europe with him but don't worry i'll be back
My ideas: 1 Air unit for each race, this could be done either replacing one unit (the less used) or it can be done by giving the script writer more work, new spells for each and hmm, new resources smile.gif i hate minerals. hmm my suggestion making a new titleset which it would be very very hard for graphics...forget the new titleset biggrin.gif i just remembered i am in graphics lol oh and 1 unit/spell/weapon/ w/e called Sen that would be like the most powerfull thing in the mod tongue.gif

The new resource idea is cool, but what can it be? Theres not much in the SC world that can be a resource.

We might could do a simple test mod turning zerg units into random bugs and zerg buildings into bee hives or ant hills and things like that tongue.gif

You could have the SEN-MOD mod, turn each person on the team into a hero unit. tongue.gif

Okay, a race-expansion MOD it seems you want.

Any blueprints or specific outlines of what you want? Maybe include some of the "special" buildings or whatnot?

One or two more units per race, possibly an extra tileset. I don't see how much we can do with extra buildings, seeing as the Protoss lists are all filled up.

ADDITION:
So this would mean we get some people to suggest some units, then we try to work them in and balance them.

Well, right now I am outlining a basic TC modification...

I'll post it in a couple of hours or so.

Ion Cannon. Give it an attack... a powerful one.

That can hit anything on the map! (Assuming you can see it.)

Then give it like... 3 minutes of cooldown!

Superweapons are funnnnnn!

and we can use the Xel'naga thing to cast something like nuke but instead of that boring nuclear explosion you can make a SUPER MEGA HYPER BEAM!
i already made my blue prints as dtbk said, since they are blueprints they are lame but the idea is there

ADDITION:
the beams were made by me in MS paint and not with another program that does all the work for u in that kind of stuf...now why didn't i use the picture managar...me dumb....
oh and the beams are supposed to fall from the sky and be animated so there an effect like ...things going up if you've played any rpg you'll get it- too lazy to make a gift out of it smile.gif

Actually it would be best if we added a new race. It uses every position. We could add in Xel'naga(i just relized where they got the name for the naga race in wc3[it must be linked]) and make it semi-playable. Like an add in which is like the naga in wc3 that is why i brought it up.

We take it and make a basic tech-tree. Ima post a Txt on a tech tree based off many things ive seen on the mod forum.

how can farm be meditation amplifier? lol, what kind of farm is it, is it what i imagine where you grow crops and sometimes have chickens on it?
oh and i was thinking about eating all those critters and make new ones, horses, panda bears biggrin.gif don't know

We should, possibly, add a new spell for each race.

But, here's what I've got, off the top of my head.
Terran: umm, they need another melee unit?
Zerg: More anti-air, I hate having to spend so much on scourge. Perhaps another morph from the hydra?(We can still do that)
Protoss: They need to be able to heal HP, IMO.

I agree w/ Voy, we should make some super stuff.

Okay, one set of "super" stuff for each race. Let's base it on the currently existing buildings. Let's see some (mostly from project leads) specifc blueprints.

i.e.
HP: very high
Armor: low
Attack: <describe>, high damage

etc.

HP: Very High (2000, 3000)?
Armor: High
Attack: Ion Discharge
Min Range: 30
Max Range: 255
Type: Manually Targeted (Spell)
Charge-Up Time: 5 Seconds?
Cooldown: 3 minutes
Damage: Very, Very High. (500-800?)
Splash Radius: Large
Damage Type: Normal

Built From: Terran SCV
Requires: Physics Lab, Science Facility, Ion Technology Research.
Mineral Cost: 3000
Gas Cost: 1000

It coud have an attack upgrade, starting at 650 then after upgrade 800.

Maybe have the Archon and Dark Archon merge for say 6 seconds, and then do a moderately sized area mind control.

For the Ion Cannon, make you need a physics lab and sci facility to build an Ionic Research Lab, which can house upgrades for the Ion Cannon.

Like the ideas so far.
