Go hug a veteran or give em a poppy seed, numbskull -_-

my daddy and my grampy and my great uncle are veterans. and my friend is a marine and my sister is in rotc.

don't flame the military please. I just wanted to remind you. so that you didn't forget. numbskull.

And I say that endearingly. smile.gif

Yea it is.

Numbskull <3

Dyde I mean seriously thank them. Go up and give them a hug, or if you're a touch-a-phobe, go up and shake their hand or something less physical contactish.

Most people don't really remember the people who died in the wars during the moment of silence, they just stand there. If it wasn't for them, it's quite possible we might not be here right now....

Meh.
I'll respect people in the military, not the military itself.
EDIT: Kinda ironic observation: I'm wearing camo right now.

unfortunately, my grandfather who fought in ww2 died before i knew what veteran's day really was. other than that, i don't have anyone in my immediate family involved in the military. there are a lot of military people where i work, but that was closed today for veteran's day :/

i think it is remembrance day in canada. i remember seeing it on a calendar.

It is Remembrance Day in Canada. Veterans Day in the United States.

We had an assembly today and a veterans bomber came to our school and talked about his experience.

Not really... Camo transformed into a style, its not like it makes a military statement.

I already have enough trouble standing still for two minutes doing nothing, but now I have to remember stuff too while I'm doing it?!

We had an assembly and all these soldiers came in and surrounded our auditorium. Also, one of our teachers used to be a drill sergaent in the army during WWII, so he set up the whole thing.

BTW, It is remembrance day here.

That reminds me, there was also a play that some of the students did. It was very well done but the military thing were horrible. The General, was wearing a uniform with 3 cheverons which shows the rank of sergeant and the drill was bad when they were marching on stage. For the salutes they were touching half their forehead with the back of their hand. Other than that the acting was good an no one screwd up.
