heres whats up, i am a senior in high school and there is a girl i have liked since middle school. i kept making excuses for my self to not ask her out excuses like maybe after i get a job. after i get a car. the fact that shes my best friend doesn't help ether. i decided i would ask her to prom and ask to date her as soon as i graduate. come to find out shes moving to rode island and we currently live in michigan. shes a very sweet girl who is a church fanatic and has been asked out by another "close friend" she turned him down saying "i don't want to ruin my friendship" and "i don't date people who are close to me" this has made me terrified to ask her to even prom. i could go with someone else but i've pictured going with her ever since i first got to high school.
what should i do?
ask her out? enjoy our time together as friends? go to prom with her even though it will probably be the last thing we do together.
I am so confused that i've actually been drifting apart from her i would greatly appreciate any and all advice.

Ask her to the prom, what's the worst that can happen?
Your saying your never going to see her again? Then it really doesn't matter.

If you're staying in michigan, you might as well ask her out.. Even if it turns out to suck she'll be in Rhode Island -_-

Yeah..Ask her to the prom..Just tell her how you feel. What do you have to lose besides dignity if the word goes out she turned down on you .

Yeah exactly....Tell what you need to tell, or keep your silence for the rest of your life. What's your choice? Tell the girl(?) of your dreams how you feel, or say GG to whatever you were thinking about ( ) .

Exactially if shes moving soon y does it matter than if she wont even give you a shot? Just walk up to her and ask her to prom.
Who knows maybe she is waiting for you to ask her out but she has been to shy to ask that happened to me once

Ask her out to the prom. You don't have to be "dating" to do that, there are a lot of people who ask the opposite sex to the prom when they are just friends.

Do it! Do it! Just think, if she leaves and you never worked up the nerve to try, you'll be kicking yourself. This is a learning experience you can't pass up!

Legacy speaks the truth!
And yes ask her, or you'll be wondering the rest of your life if she would have said yes or no.

I'm guessing Authority has no girlfriend..?
But yes, especially if that's the last thing you'll ever do together, make it memorable.

A little comfort and a possible threat:
There was a guy I had known since kindergarten. We went to the same elementary and middle school, but we went to two seperate high schools. I took an elective class from his highschool last year, and I realized how much I liked him. I flirted with him almost shamelessly, hoping he'd make a move. He never did. I asked his friend to homecoming this year, and now he's my boyfriend. Later, I asked one of the first guy's friends if he ever liked me, and apparently he did, but wasn't sure if I returned the feelings. But it was too late; I was going out with one of his friends.
Comfort: Go for it. The worst she'll say is she just wants to be friends. Threat: If you don't someone else will.

just think if u dont ask her .... form the words of lance armstrong in the movie dodgeball
"I'm sure this decision won't haunt you for the rest of your life"
or something like that

Well, how casual can you make it? Unless she really wants to go with someone else, just be like "hey, come with me. It's be fun!"
(No, I'm not retarted.)
Like everyone said, what's to stop you from having a good time with a friend? Or, go with her and a bunch of others, and just start doing your own thing when you get there after a while.
