+Intro

Made for Syphon's "StarEdit Only UMS Tournament".

Majesty the game is a unique strategy game where each player controlls a kingdom, recruiting Heroes to their service. Multiplayer Majesty allowed the kingdoms to interact, whether aiding each other or battling. Majesty the map, however, features one single kingdom, one king, and up to 4 Heroes. Like the game that inspired it, this map features RPG elements not found in other maps such as random map placement and random monster generation. The ability for one player to build a town that the other players can use is also rare, but has been successfully tested in one of my previous RPGs, World of Starcraft 2. The result? An RPG with the ultimate replayability! The world is different each time the map is played, and the town will also be built up differently depending on the player who is King.

"Seas of water. Seas of time. Both isolate Ardania, a realm steeped in humanity's myth and lore. Within the folds of Ardania's landscape dwell creatures of fantasy, and of nightmare. Facing these challenges are epic heroes, some motivated by treasure and greed; other heroes are inspired by honour, and righteous ideals; and some by a genuine fear of evil's defiling touch. To overcome these dire perils, Ardania's heroes need but one thing- an inspired leader to defy the darkness. Accept Ardania's crown, and forge new legends for this ancient land!" -intro movie of the original Majesty game

+World Map
[attachmentid=15305]

--World map is composed of 12x10 sections of 16x16 grids each
---The locations of monster lairs (15 total) and the Palace are generated in the centers of randomly picked sections
---Exploration of map results in creation of Map Revealers to simulate lack of Fog of War in original Majesty game
[attachmentid=15296]

+Available Characters (Heroes)
[attachmentid=15299][attachmentid=15301][attachmentid=15302]

--Level 1 Palace
---Rogue: the Rogue is your classic Thief type Hero. Employing such abilities as Steal, the Rogue will amass his riches quickly- if he is keen to not let his ambition throw his life away.
---Ranger: the Ranger is a frontiersman. The Ranger is a Hero preferred by players who want attack range but do not want to sacrifice too much health or offensive power.
---Warrior: the Warrior is the most basic melee fighter. Despite this fact, a Warrior benefits in attack damage and health increases, as well as direct offensive spells.

--Level 2 Palace
---Level 1 Heroes
---Elf: the Elf is a cross of the Rogue and the Ranger. While the Elf's weapon of choice is also a Longbow like that of the Ranger, there are more money generating abilities like the Rogue's Steal.
---Monk: the Monk is a more advanced fighter. Unlike the warrior, the Monk does not wield a blade, but prefers martial arts, resulting in less direct damage, but more potent spells.
---Cultist: the Cultist is the exact equivalent of a druid from other RPGs. While not the best fighter, the Cultist tips the fight in his favor by summoning ferocious animals to fight for him.

--Level 3 Palace
---Level 1 and 2 Heroes
---Paladin: the Paladin is the most well-trained fighter. With many spells similar to those of the Monk, the Paladin also benefits from better direct damage due to the use of a sword instead of bare hands.
---Priestess: the Priestess is similar to the Cultist. Unlike the Cultist, the Priestess has no direct attack, but can summon many more minions; the Cultist can only have 1 at a time.
---Wizard: the Wizard is well-trained in spells. Though he has the lowest health of all the Heroes, the Wizard also has the deadliest spells- if he has trained enough.

+Available Buildings (King)
--Level 1 Palace
---Palace (additionals cannot be built): here a player can leave the realm of Ardania and start afresh with a brand-new Hero
---Blacksmith: upgrading everything from weapons and armors to spells and summoned monsters' damage
---Inn: rest for a minor fee contributed to the King
---Marketplace: purchase basic necessities to surviving beyond the safety of the kingdom
---Guardhouse: while this building cannot be entered, it spreads creep needed to build other buildings. When upgraded, it is the King's only defense besides the Henchman; and unlike the Henchman, the kingdom can have more than 1 Guardhouse.

--Level 2 Palace
---Magic Bazaar: with more items than the Marketplace, the Magic Bazaar sells more offensive than defensive equipments to be used in battle
---Hall of Champions: serves a dual purpose. It offers an enchantment, Vigor, which slightly raises the combat stats of a Hero; the King can also choose a Monster that the Heroes have previously killed and display it in the Hall of Champions, which gives that monster double the normal experience when killed by the Heroes

--Level 3 Palace
---Royal Gardens: offers the enchantment Bless, which greatly reduces the damage done to the Hero for a short period of time
[attachmentid=15290]
---Fairgrounds: here Heroes can train by attacking a dummy, which gives great experience, albeit much less gold than killing even the most basic monster; nevertheless, the Fairgrounds is essential to weaker Heroes like the Priestess and Wizard, who can gain levels without the risk of dying

+Available Spells
--ROGUE
---Steal: use next to a Monster Lair to gain Gold
---Hide: conceal yourself; draines Mana
---Poison: constantly apply a small amount of damage to nearby Monsters
[attachmentid=15423]
---Loot: use near a Monster to gain Gold
---Multishot: fire a volley of arrows

---Clean Tracks: make all Monsters on your tracks lose their trails, unless if they can see you by sight
---Forage: look around for herbs, and if there are enough, creates a Healing Potion
---Bash: use the blunt side of your weapon to attack outside your normal cooldown cycle
[attachmentid=15288]
---Journey: must be used at special parts of the map in the borders, gives you a great amount of experience
---Multishot: fire a volley of arrows

---Zombie: can take a beating and put up a fight, though very slow
---Wild Hellbear: tough hide and stronger attack
---Wild Werewolf: under those teeth and fur had once been a local Hooligan; no more
---Wild Medusa: a fearsome Monster that is fast and strong

--Monsters spawned after Bosses are beaten (Easter Eggs for beating the game)
---All previous monsters
---Undead Shadow Beast: extremely fast attacks quickly shred through everything in its path
---Rock Golem: high HP and damage, encounters with this Monster soon turn fatal

+Bosses

Download updated.

Fixed a rare bug that would give your income buildings to P6 when you have too many of them, which I previously thought happened only to Inns.

This map is amazing. If you haven't played it, download it now! The heros have a wide variety of things they can do, including interacting with most of the King's buildings. There's a wide variety of spells and items to buy. (Clean Tracks is one of the most original spells I've seen in a RPG)

Playing as the King is also fun, its cool to see your Kingdom expand from just a single Palace to a map-spanning empire.

This map is proof that you don't need fancy editors to make good maps.

very sexy, i played it on sp and it look like me a hour to figure it was a mp map XD

9/10

would be a 10/10 but it says henchmen cant go in unexplore areas? but i can see them anyway? ><
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PCFredZ on 2005-11-21 at 15:44:22
Alright, that's it, I'm making a trigger that ends the game for you if you try to play it by yourself.

Also, FYI, the Henchman thing works like this: there's a Wraith in the center of every exploreable square. When a Hero gets close enough to it, the Wraith is destroyed.

Two differently sized locations are centered on the Henchman, ergo for this to work there must be only one. If a Wraith is detected in the bigger location, the Henchman gets moved back to the smaller one.

For there to be a balance between accessibility and smoothness, the Henchman's big location has to be at a size CLOSE, but not PERFECT, to detecting the Wraiths. While it could be bigger to create a better effect of Henchmen really not being able to enter fog of war, it would greatly hinder the Henchman's movement at the start of the game with unexplored area surrounding the entire Palace.

such great replayability.... you should make a sequel with teams

like maybe 2 teams of 1 king, 2 heroes.

WOULD OWN.

also, its too easy. all you have to do is rush all the buildings

ADDITION:
So much fun but again I say.... TOO EASY >.<

I beat it in 15 minutes!

plz answer to my pm or my post PCFredz

Only 2 Heroes on each team is feasible. I'd use P12 for the neutral computer, giving one more slot for one more King.

However, PvP competition, and especially awarding experience, will take more work.

SAT II Math 2 in 2 weeks. Yeah. But regardless of what my parents tell me to do, I'll probably work on it. tongue.gif

Rest assured, Majesty 2.0 (as in 2 Kings) will not be made with just StarEdit. tongue.gif

4/10

Fun. Very short game. Builder gets bord very fast. Units very unbalanced. Spells are unproportioned. Bad bad bad bad bad bad terrain. Randomality doesn't take this map anywhere. Pointless. Im rethinking "Fun" already...

I must say, just because you made it on normal editor means nothing... You can do very advanced triggering on normal SCEditor.

I would expect a much better RPG from you in the future. King vs King is a great idea. Stick with it...

Will the Kings have offensive troops in Majesty 2? Pleeease? tongue.gif

We can't rely on heroes to defend AND attack... they're only 2 units. ermm.gif

ermm.gif It'd be really off from the original game though.
