Hello, need an idea for an addictinggame. Not a HUGE trigger map. Just something really addicting and fun/ People on b.net these days like killing everything..........EVERYTHING. So i need some ideas!

Addicting game? How is someone supposed to say something like that??? I can't think of anything. All of the addicting game are already out on battle.net

ur asking us to tell u what we are desperately trying to accomplish even now......
basically anything can be addicting if u make it right........can u be more specific in the kind of map? (rpg, defense Xp, mass, lotr style, diplo, misc)

Addicting game? 4player ffa countdown defense happy.gif involoves special effects/ 4 different enemy attack patterns that are COMPLETELY RANDOM happy.gif hawt, i dont know y some people love this game so much, prolly cuz there is a different winner every time? and it takes lots of skill and (although rare in defense maps) planning out! and CHOICES! ararararawrarararararatr blink.gif blink.gif crazy.gif happy.gif tongue.gif

how about you just see what games are popular atm, and make something simliar to it, but better, and dont jsut straigt out copy it

I would say RPG's arn't as addicting though... actual RPG's anway because with an actual rpg, you play it for the STORY. The features just make you go "SWEET!" While the story makes your heart beat and your mind sprint smile.gif

Bounds are pains in the asses, so people are addicted to them ONLY because they keep dying. So overall, they are irritated with the game but still want to beat it, and what do they get? Nothing but drum roll with a VICTORY and that was it... though yeah, the player won, but did they really feel that way o.O?

Defence maps work about the same way. So bascially, you have to incorporate a story in bound and defence maps or at least give it its own atmosphere. The most addictiing is probably games that players go against each other, but very well balanced and give players a lot more options then just MASS and OMG SEND THAT GODLY HERO THERE AND KILL EVERYTHING THAT'S NOT A HERO...

How about a map where you have to use both skill and strategy to beat another player? I mean, not sure if this has been used yet, what if it's a mind control war? It'll be like Paintball wars, but instead of just hoping your guy shoots first, you have to be alert to mind control anyone who comes your way. After mind controlling another player's DarkArchon, remove or kill it then that's a score for you. Make ramps and trees and hell, maybe a few fields like darkswarm and webs around the map and maybe even floating buildings for cover!

Sounds like a good game, no? biggrin.gif

The kids this day love LotR-like Games, World Wars, and other diplo like games, a good idea is to make a diplo game off a movie or something, and do it really well, not a crap map. LotR has alrady been done, it's pretty good yet no one plays it anymore.

Carnage. It has to be fast moving, flashy text, lots of movement, sound. lots of things that catch the eye, it helps with todays generation to remember the killing. I dont think theres many good maps with no killing.

How about random defence...You are given a set amount of gold and whatever each beacon you land on (Possibly 3...one for small units, one for medium units, and one for large units) It'll spawn like maybe 5 random units.

Maybe start of with 100 mins and for the first beacon with small units, it'll cost them maybe like 10 mins, the medium will cost them about 30 mins, and the large can cost them like 50 mins or something... tongue.gif

And of course you can upgrade them maybe cost like 20 for attack and each unit upgrades like Lockdown or something, it'll cost them like 5 or 10.

It's team based and you can make the map similar to Matrix or something.

And of course...you got to have a banner for red happy.gif for those pesky no good bsers! pinch.gif .

I recently played a map where you spawn random units and you use those to complete missions. Can't remember the name tho. But it did have an interesting concept of the randomness.

Oh how about make a game of something like Connect Four(which is I already done cool1.gif , but I lost the map cry.gif it was on my old comp. CAN"T FIND IT NOW)
okay, or maybe some like Chess, or umm Checker..etc.

I guess it Should be fast load, but it requires lots of triggers, and I had easily mess up my triggers in my connect 4 map.
