Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> Broken MSPaint <:C

Here is the problem:
[attachmentid=15322]
(Error in MFS42.DLL)

Here is the story:
For a project we are doing in one of my classes I need some picture that I can make a transparency and trace on a large paper. So I find a picture and just to make it easy to use make it a monochrome outline. I go to clean up a bit of the random pixels (from dark colors) that make the picture look ugly. I decide "Just in case something happens I will save my progress." Well, something did happen (or else I wouldn't be making this topic...). Just as I click "Save" it freezes. Another MSPaint window won't open, so I go into another program and paste it in there. I go to the Task Manager to end task MSPaint, and I accidentally pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del twice.. so it restarts. Then I go into MSPaint just to see if maybe I could do that one part again that needed fixing. It won't open. So I restart again, and it still wont open.
Then I tried looking for that DLL. I open it with ResHacker just fine (just seeing if maybe there was something currupted... but nothing ResHacker saw, or I saw). So I do a system search and find one of the many copies that all DLLs have in profile folders and replace it. Same error.

I miss MSPaint. I had to use PhotoStudios to cut out that error message, and it was hard to get it exact. <:C

well uh... you could just reinstall it i mean its not that big. just delete all the ms paint files and then ask some1 for those files. thats if you are missing or have a corrupted file.

You can't install MS Paint when Windows itself installs it. Unless you can download them online.

Just reinstall your computer.

wtf... no just get the paint files and paste them into the system32 folder(i dunno if thats right one)

I did this once before when i accidentally deleted a neccessary part of paint.... i just got paint from my other computer and pasted it right into the folder. it worked perfectly.

I have a specific version of MSPaint... (I forgot what I did, but I made it able to open all image file types. (PCX, PNG, JPG, etc.)

And also most people have XP (my System32 folder is empty...)

EDIT: I just remembered, there is a way to install/remove Windows programs (its how I got Resoure Meter biggrin.gif)
If it breaks my MSPaint's ability to open anything, I will be sad. sad.gif

EDIT2: Reinstalled paint, same error.

Of course you can install windows programswithout reinstalling windows... Just go to Add/Remove programs and click the "Windows Setup" tab.. To reinstall just install it, then click it again.

I found it works when I switch users.
But switching users every time I want to open/edit an image? Screw that.

Just stay at the other account if you need to.

But what about all my settings, etc…
My desktop is so organized I had to make my background have the icon "shadows" just incase one gets moved. And if I make a new user, I have to redo all the icons, settings, cursors, etc. cry.gif

Not really. Besides, can't you save files to your other user's space?

But then I still have to organize everything, and redo settings.

I guess I may have to… sad.gif

Why not upload your paint file from the other user onto SEN then download it onto your current?
