there should be a program that lets u pick the music u want to hear while playing the game. like u could pick something totally unrealated to starcraft (like music from metroid prime 2 or something like that) and listen to it ingame.

You can either A) make a mod that replaces the ingame background music, or B) Mute the ingame music (CTRL + M) and play your own.

Cool idea. You could put in a bunch of songs and I don't think it would cuase a lag for the game

Well, it seems at least to me that coding a kind of music player into StarCraft itself would be a considerable amount of work... since to make it load different music files, you'd have to edit the data calls in the exe itself... I don't think it would really be worth all of that.

I suggest you just find a player that supports global shortcuts, so that you can change the volume and switch songs by pressing hotkeys while you're in StarCraft. It's what I do, because really, the StarCraft music is great, but after a few years of listenning to it, it gets kind of tiresome, no? happy.gif

shouldnt be hard, to get rid of the music in starcraft, make a mod replacing these with empty WAV's:
music\pdefeat.wav
music\prdyroom.wav
music\protoss1.wav
music\protoss2.wav
music\protoss3.wav
music\pvict.wav
music\radiofreezerg.wav
music\tdefeat.wav
music\terran1.wav
music\terran2.wav
music\terran3.wav
music\title.wav
music\trdyroom.wav
music\tvict.wav
music\zdefeat.wav
music\zerg1.wav
music\zerg2.wav
music\zerg3.wav
music\zrdyroom.wav
music\zvict.wav

and then find a program that plays music with support for global shortcuts.

Uh... how about: you just press ctrl+M to turn the Starcraft in-game music off, and then use said program? tongue.gif

To make music files that could be load to Starcraft maps, you need the pcm fiiles I mean any music files except WMA(the music files that could only be play in Window Media Player, or maybe like Realplayer, or some other, etc)
***You could record**
and then load it into computer,
and then use Sound Recorder* to edit them.
