Is there a way to send your favorites from firefox to IE?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Tearshed on 2005-11-21 at 00:20:41
I shouldnt help YOU zombie but this is for anyone else who has this problem.

In Firefox:
Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks -> File -> Export

Save your file somewhere you'll remember.

In I.E.
File -> Import and Export

It will bring up the wizard.

Click next.

Click Import favourites.

Choose Import from a file or address.

Find where you saved your bookmarks.

Put your imported bookmarks where you want then click next.

Finished!

For I.E. bookmarks into FF:

In I.E.

File -> Import and Export

It will bring up the wizard.

Click next.

Click Export favourites.

Choose what to import.

Next.

Save your file somewhere you'll remember.

Finish that.

In FF:

Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks -> File -> Import

Choose from file.

Locate your file and done!

There is another way to import into FF.

Just go:

Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks -> File -> Import

Then choose from I.E.

Hope this help some people.

I just learned about this today in my Digital Imaging class. Your precious "Glow Text" is just eye candy. USELESS eye candy at that. Same with background images. Eye candy. It's slow? My FireFox is 200 times faster than the IE on my computer, and it protects me from the Spyware that IE just so happens to let on your computer (Microsoft just loves to fark people over) How does it make things look funny? Please give an example.

IMO why FF rulez over IE

FF: Added Security
IE: No security

FF: Loads faster (On my computer)
IE: Slow loading times (More useless eye candy? I think so)

FF: Tabs
IE: Useless clutter of windows on my taskbar

FF: Better looking interface
IE: Very bland. Boring.

FF: Download window popup so you may view all your previous downloads, and may load them from this window
IE: None.

So. By inductive reasoning, I have concluded that FireFox is a much better choice than Microsoft's Internet Explorer (Remember Microsoft getting sued for it, too?) I'm all about speed, and reliability, and IE just does not cut it

I dont see how background images are eye candy... They are required for the aesthetics of the website.

That's stretching it a bit. IE has SOME security.

or

  • A JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP?

Unless your a complete moron who lets anything install on your computer, you don't need a secure browser. I have NO fire wall, and I use IE, and, what's this, I've gotten NO viruses.

I've used both, and for me, FF loads slower and can't display almost anything right. Wan't to see what it shows for google?

Wow. GREAT browser there. Sometimes I get lucky and it shows up in Spanish though, or shows up with just "OOGLE" in the top left.

I for one hate the tabs. Besides, you can get the same effect by running multiple IE's when your toolbar cascades. It takes 9 windows for mine do that, and I've never ran that many IE's at the same time, so I see tabs as having your toolbar cascade after two openings.

Why do you need a download history? Perhaps you can look at where you downloaded it to see what it was? Unless you were dropped on your head as a little kid, I think you'd have enough memory to remember where it is.

I tried FireFox out and I didn't like it. Some web site (forget name) did a review of all of the web browsers out there including the top one which are Internet Explorer, Opera, and FireFox. They said that Internet Explorer is the best due to the most features and easiest to use for the average person. Opera was in second with the features that were matched with Internet Explorer but had trouble with some of the abilities it could do. It runs pages a little faster than IE but it came in second. FireFox came in third with a long list of things that it could not do to even be close to Opera.

If I find the site I will post it on here for you guys.

Bull, if you visit a site it can secretly install viruses not matter what broweser but in ff it shows a alert tab.

The only possible i thing i see thats wrong with FF is that most videos/other are not compatable with it, only IE.

Single colored background = teh suckkage
Look at SEN, does that look like a single color background?
The only single colored background i like is white, and the only font i like on that is Courier New.

The browser i prefer to all others is the Google Mini Viewer, which is technically IE.
QUOTE

Because windows keeps it organized just fine anyway. I have tried as hard as possible to keep FF from opening new tabs but it is still insistent on using them.

Let's see, FF:

  • Has no ActiveX (And don't say it can install stuff on your computer without you knowing it. It tells you when they try to put it on your computer.)[attachmentid=15522]
  • Is missing many CSS things (Glow, border-break-all, ect)
  • Has a POS Pop Up Blocker (You say you have one, but thats a load of BS. It said it blocked them, yet...)[attachmentid=15523]
  • Is Open Source. Makes it easier for you to get attacked.

For one, most sites don't do that, and two, no they don't, unless you leave yourself completely open.

Again, your toolbar cascading is exactly the same as tabbed browsing. You click on the toolbar, then a tab.

And, on an interesting note, check out this article on your "Large Userbase". http://www.connectedinternet.co.uk/blog/_a...14/1029160.html

QUOTE

Don't open so many windows. And tabs annoy me.

QUOTE
FF: Better looking interface
IE: Very bland.  Boring.

FF: Looks the same as IE, just more buttons and "Google Search: _______"
IE: Gets to the point.

QUOTE
FF: Download window popup so you may view all your previous downloads, and may load them from this window
IE: None.

IE: A popup opens, it had things like "Open folder" and such. And if you really want a list of things you have downloaded, there is a nice "Temporary Internet Files" that you can look into.

Also Glowing Text may be eye candy, but I like it.
Background images make things look good, and make images, text, and other content blend into the page rather than just a solid color background.

I prefer FF, and these are MY OPINIONS. I don't want any of this quoted as fact, alright?
I think FF is faster, links actualy work when i read my e-mail. (My mom uses IE and it refuses to let him just click the link in her e-mail to go to the web-page, and I can't explain it.)
To me there's no difference in the tool-bar, but I definately like the FF features better.
I don't use tabs, I just use multiple windows, I just have a game (like Brood War) a window (like sen) and another window (where i'm finding someone's name, a piece of info, a nice picture... ect.).

I have no opinion on Opera.

My school doesn't support Mac IE, they want us to use Safari which uses the same internet engine as FF.

Oh, need I say that SEN supports FF?
