Well, I am not sure how to say this in a complete, and understandable way. So, I will explain to the best of my abillity.
Here goes:
When I burn CD's, they are burned in a weird format. As in, I specify them to be burned in .mp3 and to be added to my library as .mp3. But, after I burn the CD, the CD can only play on a select few CD players.
My guess is, something isn't right in the Options. Which is why I am asking for help. If anyone has an idea on how to get my burner to burn CD's that play on "every CD player", that would be GREATLY appreciated.
If you are still confused by what I am asking, let me know. I will elaborate more!
Thanks everyone.
What else can you burn the files as?
What are you burning the .mp3's on?
A a CD-RW or a CD-R?

Are you talking about ripping or burning? Those are two different things.
When I rip the files, I rip them as mp3's.
So, I presume that they would burn as mp3's.
But, I am burning them on a CD-R.
Also, they don't play when I put them in a DVD player.
Another weird thing is, they burn to an mp3 player just fine, but that is it. They don't play on CD players(all but my car's CD player).
Burning really isn't my forte.... emulating is...
This is really confusing..
Is your CD Player in your car special or something?
It shouldn't be.
It's about 8 years old.
Net Worth: I would pay
you to take it away!
Did you put the CD in your computer to see what "weird format" they're going in?
Chances are your car CD player (being 8 years old) doesn't play .mp3s.

That's the thing, you have it mixed up. My car is the
only CD player that I have found that plays CD's that are burned from my computer.
Try burining it as an 'Audio Cd', that'll play in anything.
What I do is make a burn list in Windows Media Player and just burn it. It'll automatically compress it and convert to a .wav (I think) and burn on it's own.
My CD has about 18 songs with about 12 over 4 mins, 3 over 5 mins and the rest over 3 mins. The CD plays on every CD player that I've put it into.
CD players are meant to play .wav's and only some of them will read .mp3's.

Yes do it like that, I always burn my cd's in audio format when the original files are mp3. It will work.
Well, I trued doung what all of you have said.
It burns the CD fine, but still nothing will play it.
Funny thing is, my computer didn't recgonize the CD after it was burned. So, something isn't right.
ok theres definetly something ur not telling us....
What program are you burning? Try to use Nero, iTunes, or Windows Media Player.
Well, this is what I will do:
I will take screenshots of everything I am doing, and maybe... Someone can tell me what is going wrong.
Get iTunes, it seems to be the easiest. Just make the playlist, then click 'Burn CD'.
Step 1:
[attachmentid=15463]
I select the music, and I add it to the burn list.
Step 2:
[attachmentid=15464]
I select the CD's properties.
Step 3:
[attachmentid=15465]
Select OK. (I don't change anything here)
Step 4:
[attachmentid=15466]
I start burning the CD
I see nothing wrong with the procedure that you are using.
Sometimes it's best to use a CD-R than CD-RW and other times it's the other way around. Have you tried both CD's?
Also, in this computer I can't burn anything because I've got problems with my CD Writer drive. I had to send my music to the other computer in my network and burn it on that computer.
Try burning using iTunes or something. I don't like Windows Media Player... because it comes with Windows.
Anyway, put a burnt CD in your computer and check the format. What is the file extension on the songs?
If you directly burned the music as .mp3 or .wmv data, it will not work on the cd player. Actually, though microsoft is stupid, windows media player does work in buring cds.
