i dont dl cracked programs either, only music.. but the only reason for that is so i dont gotta farking buy 99 cents a song from itunes for my ipod. they are so farked up. 99 cents a song...

Well they do get a lot of money but by downloading you are basically stealing their credit of the song and etc. Apparently in Canada you are allowed to download because the judge said it was like the same as borrowing a book from the library. My tech teacher said that is was apparently not illegal to download but illegal to upload files for others to download.

I dl cracked programs all the time. I think that the most anyone should have to pay for software is 40 or 50 dollars.

Yeah I download stuff, never saw anything wrong with that. It will never be stopped.

Programs don't cost much for a company to put on a CD, what could it be? $2.00 tops to copy the CD? Some people who are technologically retarded will buy it and they will get some money.

It costs a company to make a program but they get their money back pretty quickly and make some money on top of that.

People get screwed over all the time like today I stole an apple. yahoo.gif

What I think is weird is that the two main costs that jack up a CD's prices are Advertising the CD, and the case. And itunes dollar songs are still WAY overpriced. The sad thing is that most of the money made by selling music does not go to the people who produce the music. You can get lucky to sign a contract with a recording studio to make 25% of your profits. The corporate function of the music industry is screwing everyone.

Thats just for music though, sorry for being off topic.

Here's the way I see it: if you download a few songs just so you can listen to them, how different is it from taping a song off the radio? Why should that be considered illegal? It should only be illegal if you spread it or intend to sell it for your own profit.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Snipe)r( on 2005-11-21 at 21:59:18
my aunt told me that its not illegal to download the music but it is illegal to share it and spread it accross the net.

The problem is, programs like LimeWire share files automaticly. Even when I disabled mine it kept reenabling it.

DONT use Itunes Store. It reduces the quality of the file to have it more compressed. It is not worth it.

Well i think that downloading isnt illigal... for the music they play it on the radio.... you just record that and put it on your computer its the same thing as downloading... except downloading is easier. For those expensive programs like Photoshop... seriously it costs hundreds of dollars people like us(middle class) cannot afford to buy that kind of stuff for a program. And for the movies well... im kinna neutral on the movie part. its the same concept with the music.

itunes cost .99 .... you already paid for your ipod you deserve free music!

All my movies I buy for the exception of a few that I just want to watch it once then delete. All the movies I've seen in movie theaters and I think is good I buy the real DVD of it.

I download stuff all the time, I don't feel like paying 60-80 bucks a game thats going to eventually sit on the shelf. However if a game is reasonably priced I'll buy it (example DOD:S and CS:S each cost me 20) I don't buy any new cds simply because the music being put out today isn't worth buying.
