If you had ONE MILLION dollars,

Please Feel Free to Share with us what you'd do with it.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Diggidoyo on 2005-11-26 at 02:58:04
I'd INVEST it....

in all sorts of luxuries such as the Chyrlser ME 4-12 (my dream car)...

And actually 1 million dollars isn't that much money these days (relativly speaking).

Give it away, I don't want to have to bother with taxes, moochers, all the stuff that comes along with wealth.

I'd invest it, but if I had to do something else with it... I'd probably travel around the world and meet certain people and just look at different cultures. I think one million dollars is enough for that.

Ill use 1 million dollars to buy gadgets, weapons, and stuff to hold Bill Gates hostage until he gives me 1 septillion dollars.

Septillion is an actual word.

Sure. Its 1000000000000000000000000 (10^24). Of course its a real number. But so is trestrigintacentillion (10^402), millillion (10^3003), and milli-millillion (10^3000003) [say that 5 times fast]. And don't even get me started on googolplex. I did a short report on farkin huge numbers once. Of course I got a huge headache doing it.

Isn't it Googol not googolplex.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Diggidoyo on 2005-11-26 at 10:30:17
Those are two different numbers.

In 1938 an american mathematician Edward Kasner asked his 9 yr old nephew to invent a name for a very large number. 1 followed by 100 zeros (1^100):

10 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000

and the boy said googol. He thought this was a number to blow people's minds, being bigger than anything that can ever be put into words. But, another mathematician then came back with Googolplex, and made it 1 followed by a googol of zeros (1^googol). I'm gonna post another thread with this stuff becuase it's actually very interesting. And I don't want to make this thread go too far off topic. Later though cuz its 7:30am and I haven't slept yet.

Googolplex = 10^10^100.

And uh, the same boy came up with both number names.

I got it from a math textbook, and several other books. And wiki. And other things.

None the less it happened over 60 years ago and no one accuratly documented it so there's no way to be sure. You can get different stories from different sources. There's also a googolplexian which is 10^googolplex. But this isn't as widely accepted.
