Just a question but when do people actually need to use their self defense skills? It always seemed pointless to me.

If someone tries to steal yoru girlfriend...that is the time to use self defense.

Im Green Stripes right now and soon will be green belt.
Self-Defense is for protecting yourself against bullies, rapists, theives, rocks, abusers, etc.
Also I use them to show-off.
