I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but I'd do:

Conditions:
Always

Actions:
Set kills score for current player to 0
Preserve Trigger

Then use take the value you want for a certain unit--i.e. goliath (400 points) and do

Players:
Player 1

Conditions:
Current player's kill score is exactly 400

Actions:
Add X custom
Preserve trigger

And you could just copy that and change the Players it applies to (Current player)

Uhh... wrong

You want the score to go downward, so you should use 'Leaderboard (Goal) Score' That way you can set the score the way you want it the same way as regular score.

By negative you mean you can lose xps and go below zero?

Are you talking about EXP System, or Level Up System.
Well... Level Up System, is just simple.

Level Up System, as in you need to level up where you have to go to
a beacon, accumilating objective exp.

Condition: Score (Amount) (Typo)
Actions : Set Switch X

Then

Conditions: Set Switch X
Bring a Unit to Location XXX

Action: Remove Certain Unit
Create 1 XXX Unit at Location XXX
(OR)
Set Switch XXX
Set Unit's HP to XXX%
(OR)
Your MOM!!! Jk.

Exp System

You know about it.

Just set Condition as Always, and Put Action as Display Leader Board: Kill Score.
(OR)
Condition: Always
Action : Set Kill Score 0
Preserve TRigger
(Comment: XXX) Optional

And then...

Condition: Kill Score 50 ( Zergling )
Action: Set Custom (XXX)Score
Preserve Trigger

And Working of Switch is Still yet to be Discovered =D

remove the switch it is pointless to have in there just make the condtions the condtions for the set switch

btw you can get 50 kill score other ways besides just killing a zergling

and on another totally unrelated note on Intangibles post exactlys are bad in this case cuase if you have exactly 401 kill score ( don't ask me how u would get that ) exactly 400 for goliath trigger wouldn't fire and you can get odd scores that don't match up with any units kill score value in a few cases before the clearing of scores kicks in.

you might wanna do ranges for such things like 1-100 kill scores give you a certain amount of xp and 101-450 gives another and on and on until you get past a certain point which i really don't care about.

Why don't you do that, i pointed out how that system can become very inaccurate. Now if you are not using splash units and control only 1 unit the chance for inaccuracies drops down to about 0% but if you aren't then well there is always a chance for such inaccuracies.

It depends on the type of map Thermo. The standard kills score techniqe works perfect for that, if the unit doesn't do spash damage like you said. But if you try to use that same system for a map like Zone Control (madness). Then the system can mess up alot.

Im sure you understand this thermo, I'm more so pointing it out for others. Most people want to find a trigger that works 100% effetive on any map.

What you call "100% Accurate Trigger on Any Map" Is certainly Impossible, Well Currently I say Impossible - Because of many Reasons.

A- If it would be discovered, StarCraft 2 Would be out, or BroodWar would not be
popular as it is right now.
B- It appears that theres one way or another glitch. - Because - I've never seen such a map of perfect map with anti - hack, alias and stuff without glitch.
C- Some maps have beautious triggers, but horrible terrain - with such a lame Idea.
D- Were going off topic ranting.gif mad.gif

Are we going off track? ARE WE?

But as Bolt said it is up to the situation to determine which system would be best.

Well getting off topic might as well put an idea out there someone should compile a ton of the better kills to exp system and minerals for kils and whatever else bolt said into a friggin guide cuase i swear questions like these are some of the most frequent on all the forums i have been too and it is kinda annoying since 3 weeks ago 18 people answered the same damn question.

Yeah the problem is there is no plane answer. And what people are looking for is

Trigger 1
Conditions:
-Mapmaker is a newb
Actions:
-Run AI 'don't think'
-Preserve Trigger

Trigger 2
Conditions:
-Complex answer is shown
Actions:
-Subtract 20 points from reading and comprehension level.
-Preseve Trigger.
