Well ppl, ii'm making a map called Kingdoms Of Chaos RPG(using weapons from kings of chaos (thats y its called that)) and i need some and a lot of ideas for putting this rpg to good work. First im gonig to make a system that makes players sacrifice mineras to construst the town to have better stuff. Also i don't care how many location it takes cuz i got a good way to save locations. A location always follows the players (2 for each(1 small 1 big)) and when theres a beacon called enter/exit on in and a building at a loaction like polaris(first town), it takes u where u need to go. I need more plz so help! helpsmilie.gif helpsmilie.gif helpsmilie.gif

I did that location thing for the RPG i abanndoned like almost 2 years ago. I ended up put ing a burrowed zergling by each building exit to mark the exit point (can't have them just spawn on the beacon)

Anyways I guess i'll shut up now since im not really contributing. Anyways i'll submitt the map if anyone is interested in seeing my unfinished works of old.

Although I do not know of the game you are talking about I do have a few ideas that I can contribue. If there is magic/spells in the game, you can set a part of the map that has as many beacons as spells you want. If the player has the gas/mana then the spell fires. You could even level up your spells too by using supply depots. When a player usues a spell a certain amount of times create a supply depot at a location.

Fireball:
Create a number(depending on level)of darkarchons at a spot and issue them to attack/move to a location and kill them after time, if a opposing player is within the range of the dark archons kill them or edit hps, like in a bound map.

You could do this to make lightening spells too. I have had this on my mind for quite some time, but I don't make rpgs so I thought I would give you the idea of it. It seems like RPG's have a problem of running out of locations so you could either use different locations that are being used, but not immediately at the time, kindof alternating locations. For instance you could name a location something like. "ENTER SHOP/FIREBALL LEVEL 1" And use it when the player is shopping in town or when he issues a spell. I would love to give you all my ideas I have and would be glad to help you write triggers for them. Just PM me if interested.

Hope this helps.

Exactly, Spells - You figuere that out by your own - Cause it has censored.gif to do with Triggers.
Try to use "Switchs", and Al-Scripts: I am just Suggesting: and if you think that is offensive, your just plain dumb.

Dark Archons = Fireball/Firebolt
Archons = Lightening bolt/Energy ball
Explotion = self explanitory
Fire wall = set of units(preferably buildings) repeatadly exploding in shape of a line
Telekenesis/knockback = Move unit back a little
Morph unit = self explanitory
mana steal/life steal = self explanitory
Summon Mines = Spider mines surroound enemy units
Earthquake = center screen back and forth on locations beside units
Inferno = use invisible firebats to surround enemies

Just a few ideas for your spell.

Instead of just blowing stuff up and using d2 names for spells perhaps a more interesting list should be come up with. Sadly almost all the skills in rpgs i see are lack luster.

Perhaps you should create a spell that cuases enemies to change sides and attack other enemies ( but not let players have control of those enemies turned becuase that just screws up the game making oneplayer really powerful )

Ever think of an instant movement spell the like of teleport from d2, how bout a spell that creates a magic barrier at a location for a short duration that cuases enemies to weakened, players to be invicible, eneies to stop, enemies to run away, players to auto heal, etc the possiblities are almost limitless.

How bout a distraction spell that temporaily autos the comp to the player so the comp doesn't attack the player but instead attacks the decoy/ decoys.

These are just some very common spells btw,nothing really fantastic.

For some interesting effects and if your not using air units you could spawn units and create things like 5 pointed start of blood which don't look half bad if you use the right unit anywhere on the map ( as long as you have enough space for such th pentegram).

Now if your going offensive spells the choices are somewhat limited on good looking effect spells that do dmg to targets instead of just instant death. By good looking i mean the units that do the damage aren't obviously spawned but instead sneakily spawned where you can't see the unit that does the damage, but the damage still works save a few things like scarabs.

These are just some ideas off the top of my head right after a final so they are not very good but maybe they can get you started.
