This is by far the best map that I've seen from you. Kind of reminds me of Solar Disarray. By the way, there's a .jpg converter available in the DLDB.

Poorly placed natural, the gas island is horribly planned, and it's a pretty narrow map. Besides that its not bad.

I don't think the nat is badly placed, I dunno.. The gas islands are kinda screwy, I like it, but you have to make sure it's the same distance for both islands, SCM Draft 2 is very good for this. Much improved, GJ.

Reminds me of Solar Disarray too. Over my winter break I'll probably finish that.. I feel odd cause I spent so much time on it an never finished it.

Anywho, not bad, I like it but I dislike the placement of resources on the island expo. I know that most maps have a nat where zerg can quick expand and defend thier bases easily but I think its cool you don't, it sorta fits this map.
I admit you succeded where I failed, I couldn't compensate for the thinness. But, mine is sexier.

Instead of telling, i'll show you. I roughly modified half the map to show you some improvements.

ADDITION:
Note: It's just a rough draft so their are some problems, like min only cliff being able to hit the nat with tanks.

I think that you just slightly butchered that. The only thing that got better was the top left gas island.

You made blues base 2x larger than reds, and blues nat is now harder to defend because its way more open. You left one rusty pit but took the other away which really kerfarklered the middle area, which is supposed to be tight enough so tanks can hit in, or a templar with storm, or a defiler, etc. Its way too wide now, which is not what I was aiming for.

AND the left side middle minerals now has easier high ground, which gives you a bonus on the defense.

All you had to do to fix it was change the layout of the gas island, which in truth didnt hamper anything anyway.

THis is what I read. Sure its a rough draft, but thats more than just some problems, you changed the map so much, so I pointed out why its bad. Take some critism on your critism(sp?).

It was a fine map except for the expo. Its damn simple.

Umm you went on a paragraph long rant about how it was unbalanced because I only changed half the map. Which i did on purpose so i didnt have to modify the whole map to get my point across

ADDITION:

The middle is supposed to be narrow you dork. It forces you to take the chance of going through, or go up the ramps. It works for everyone, and tanks cant rule that much, because both sides have ramps. Even if they used M&M& Tanks, all they're holding is the middle.

A natural is fine if it is defensible by the main, they both are. Push out the defense a little, or just be good.

The gas island WAS screwy, and damn bad looking. But we all knew that. You shouldnt have changed it if you didnt want to screw it up.

Dude you're making an ass of yourself, his changes were better, and you should accept the criticism. I didn't take criticism well at all at first, but when I realized the people were right my maps got way better. Trust me on this one. They don't cushion their criticisms, that's why not many people like the criticisms, but if you can accept them and try to learn from them it will really help you.

Just to be an ass, I'll partake in this petty argument. I'd have to take Brother_Green's side here, I think if someone's going to try to change someone's map to make it better than he shouldn't make parts of it worse, as if it matters, stop arguing.
