Now i aint actully going to make this but i am going to give the idea out to you all, how about someone makes a "proper" hostage map, in the old ones people would get chucked into a closet and gaurds would hold them there, well what if someone actully got 3d terran, got some alright sounds and made a fun map? Where the Terrorists (players or computers) are asking for food (so they can stay longer) and water, and ask for demands like money (to call in more terorists to help) and whenever they kill a hostage the police player loses cash he can use for units (but when he loses it all the swat comes in) and when the cops get killed its the swats team turn (and they kick ass) so does anyone reckon they might do this?

I always wanted to see a good hostage negociation map, but the closest to a good one is airport hostage, which isnt very good.

First u have to decide on where the hostage takes place. The place should be fairly big to make it a fun game.
1. bank
2. office building
3. school
4. hospital
5. mall
6. ship O.o
7. airport (taken XP)
8. prison (lol dunno who'd be stupid enough to take over a prison, but......meh)
and so on...

my personal choice would be the office building, because its easy for the terrorist to secure it and block the entrances

you could make it be a few stories high by making the insides of multiple rooms and adding a "stair" that leads to the next story

for the police: they surround the building and have helicopters and stuff all around, then they have one negociator(one of the players) talk to the terrorists and ask what their demands are

everytime a hostage is released, a counter system is added
you start with, for example, 5 counters and everytime you get a hostage, you get 1 counter, and everytime a hostage dies, you lose a counter
10 counters=you can either raid the building and arrest the terrorists, or you can let the terrorists go or something (i dont know what happens when terrorists give up their hostages..)
0 counters=swat team goes in and takes out the terrorists, or military goes in and does the same

Kinda i was thinking that the terrorists are gonna do everything they can to keep hostages, once hostages are gone the swat or police are gonna roll on in, it could be possible to get a bomb or something but if u do and the police find out... well lets say that they are gonna have swat in alright (and alot more ;p)

I had an idea ages back. Make the scenario more life like. No Psi emitters for walls. Use Square tiles to make a large interior of the building. But not too large. Have two players as the terrorist's. Make them so they cannot view the entire building. Only view where they are. Have two other players as the Police. Have one player as a Counter-Terrorism squad. Their role is to infiltrate the building using stealth and speed. The terrorists will not know of their presence if they kill another terrorist. The terrorists dont own any more terrorists. A computer player will. The only way the terrorists will be able to see the place is through camera's.

And if the terrorists managed to spot any CT (Counter-Terrorist) members through the camera's they can activate the bomb. But! The camera's and a small range of vision, allowing the CT's to disable camera's or slip past them unseen. If the terrorist's were to explode the building, they would have to activate manually from a certain place. Not just stand anywhere, and activate the bomb.

If the CT's manage to get into the room where the hostage's and the terrorists are, they can kill them before the terrorists make their way to the bomb button. Here's the tricky part for the CT's. Its one-shot-kills. To make it more serious, the police player should think before he makes a move. The building should be placed in the middle of the map. Allowing the police to seal the perimeter. The terrorists can escape one way, and if the police seal the perimter there will be no escape.

The terrorist's will only own a single unit. And you could cut down on players, making Two Terrorist Players, Two Hostage Players, Two Police Players, and Two CT players.

Hows that? I never got a map done for this. I was too busy as usual with other maps.

Hostage map... Great Idea! I think ill make one, just the terrorists got a Office building (3 storys) being held captive... and you have to reload bullets and there is bombs and everything!

I would like to know though, how you would place cameras and then remove them? i was thinking map revealers at start but u cant remove revealers at a location..

so how?

If you make a hostage map i will be behind you and give you support!, To make the camera's how about they be a small building or flying object? i.e observer and you can put the bomb wherever u want (I.E top floor or bottem floor) and the place will blow up and be on fire at different points!

A camera can just be a muta mutating into a gaurdian, just the hovering cacoon, they work pretty well and I used that idea for an old map of mine.
