With the PC i built i use a gig of Corsair LL Ram with heat spreaders and it performs just completely awesome... but i did have to spend 300 bucks to get it... Now im building a small server for gaming and whatnot and am curious if anyone knows of any other companies that make great performing RAM.

I like Kingstom RAM a lot...
I use them and my computer works great. (cheaper too)
Usually, a good way to find a popular RAM is to go to ebay.com and search under Memory>RAM and check to see which brand has the most sales.

Haha, meh i prefer to buy new from the manufacturer when it comes to PC parts... because if it screws up... it goes right back and i get a new one.

You guys should do some explaining! I understand what RAM is, but I get lost pretty damn fast!

Try to get RAM with a small CAS latency (ideally you'd want a CAS latency of 2).
edit - oh yeah! And you want to make sure that your RAM is set up correctly in the CMOS. Many times if you buy CAS 2.0, or CAS 2.5 RAM it will default it to 3.0 in the CMOS. Lots of the time you have to go and manually set it.

Hey Ebay can be a good deal, if you know what you're looking for and they don't know what they're selling, for example...
