Hey for those who are good with powerpoint, how do you make an opening animation? Like a curtain opening and then the title or something?

There are different transitions you can use between slides. Go to Slide Show --> Slide Transitions, or you can take the time to do a custom animation.

I use custom transitions and you just set the order of how you want things to appear. So first you would choose the curtain opening transition to the page and then the title flies in then the subtext dissolves in.

That one is the closest to looking like a curtain. If you want an actual curtain then yes you will probably have to download a seperate program or animation file.
