Hey the big X-mas is coming. Any one have any cool, wierd or just fun traditions they do alone or with the family unit?

Myself, We do the basic christmas tree, cookies, visit family, presents at home. Its funny cause I wouldnt want it any way else (maybe the family can just mail me presents happy.gif )

I just put up a Christmas tree (not a holiday tree ohmy.gif!) maybe hang some stuff around the house and if it isn't too cold, set up the lights outside.

I just hate it when they go Holiday lights and Holiday Tree or Merry Holidays. In my opinion, it is all in the guy writing it like that and wants to be politically correct. If I did not celebrate christmas, I won't be "offended" if they actually used the word christmas. I really don't think anyone cares except the guy writing it thinks that in doing so he won't be offending anyone. [/rant]

I second Kaboom's holiday rantings.

I don't know what I'm gonna do for X-mas. both of my grandmas have died since the last one and we always held it at their houses. Also, I refuse to let my son's mom near him anymore... What a holly jolly year this will be....

For me, I usually either go to a family gathering at my uncle's house a few minutes away or the family gathering is at my house. Like with all of my family gatherings, there will be people playing mahjongg (I'll ocassionally play since I usually win some money tongue.gif) and just hanging around. Then we eat a really big dinner and maybe open some presents. The best part is spending time with my relatives and playing video games with my cousins. happy.gif

I go visit the family deep down in calexico and we play The Game, that's what it's called (because we are the lazy mexicans tongue.gif ). The Game is when everybody who wants to play must bring a present. Then you pick a number from a cup, finally you pick a present you want (not your own) and open it, OR you can switch the wrapped present with someone elses, it sort of like picking the sure thing, or the mystery box.

I have a christmas party. Sometimes a potluck, sometimes you bring gifts and give to everyone. I got 90 bux one time.
then i go to a family gathering, then go home, before that I usually open my presents.

Family visits, the usual send kids to bed. The next morning everyone's allowed to open up presents in the stocking but the ones under the tree have to wait until everyone is up.

Oh I just wuv my christmases!

First, we go to my granny's house to perform Satanic rituals!
Then, we all go home and burn a christmas tree down!
Then we sacrifice someone we all hate to the higher gods!

^.^

Sounds like fun. Much better than worshiping some fat guy that lives on top of the world.

As for the trees, yeah we used to have a tradition where we'd go out to a Xmas tree patch and find a good one and bring it home. But we got tired of that and the mess it made so we bought one of those fake ones that you put together. Its huge though and looks good so we don't care.
