Well this is a desert map I made similar to Twilight Twister, but still pretty different. It's not all that pretty, but I didn't want to clog unit movement too much. Suggestions welcome smile.gif.

you're ideas are steadily improving smile.gif

the expo in the center (i'm specifically talking about the gas) may pose some problems.
i see workers getting stuck mining gas

the 2 min expo and the row of used up minerals at the bottom...decorations, i assume?

Decorations and last resorts. The bottom ones add up to 1500 mins total, and the 2 mins have 3000 each. The gas thing I don't think will get workers stuck, I'mma check it right now, I thought it looked cool so I did that, also I had a problem with where to put the gas because otherwise it was going to be smack dab in the center of that area, I didn't like that, so I tried something new.

Edit: Okay I just tested it, with drones mining minerals and without drones mining minerals, and success, drones don't get stuck. smile.gif You can get up to four drones on gas without them starting to trip up, with five or six (I didn't test anymore) 1-2 of the drones start to wander off, still none got stuck. So it'll be fine smile.gif. Any other problems seen?

Hmm, looks pretty nice, aside from the squarishness. Maybe soften the edges and give it a more natural feel. Other than that, looks pretty good.

I usually find that straight edges like this work best on space maps. Otherwise try to keep a good smooth ness to it.

I haven't seen you use any unbuildable terrain yet in your maps, its often a good idea to use that to prevent tank pushes.

Keep it up your'e starting new things now and I like the improvement.

If I ever see you on SC I'll play you on a map of yours, I'm yenku@useast

Thanks guys, that squarishness is hard for me like I've said before, decoration isn't really my strong suit. Any specific areas to round off? I think I can see a few now, but suggestions for that would be nice too. I'll add in some unbuildable terrain as well, I can't do it until Tuesday though, the map is at the other house.

Edit: Yeah I can really see what you mean, I think I'll leave the compound squareish though, because it's more like human made.

Bottom corners are too square.

Also, a possible suggestion would be to use scmdraft to make wide ramps going down to the middle expo.

I've been using SCMDraft, but I could widen them up a bit I suppose. Does it really need it?

Yes I was thinking of suggesting that, but I wasn't sure if you were up for it. I would widen each one just a bit, and actually, I would combine the ones at the top (if you can do that, just look at an image of Ride Of Valkyries...

And you can see what I mean its in the middle..

Anywho, GL..

I think I would need some help with that, anyone up to sort of teach me how to do that? I'd just have trouble blending it well.

[sub]I never use draft, I usally stick with Starforge for extended terrian like this, cause the brush tool makes it simple. Using SF, all you have to do is make a square around about half of the ramp, right click and choose 'Create Brush'. Then you have an exact copy of the terrian you just made a square around. Then you can simply place it a bit to the left/right of the ramp, and make it larger. Then you only have to deal with fixing one or two tiles.

Im going to post a simple guide to extend bridges and ramps in the other melee section right now. Look for it in about an hour.[/sub]

Okay it took me a while to muster myself up to put forth the effort, then it took me like 10 minutes lol. I think I blended it pretty well, there was some mild blockiness that I couldn't find a tile to fix, I think it was right around the area where the extension occured and that would make sense. Here it is.

I also rounded off some stuff to make it look less 'squarish'.

Whatever, well Im back into SC so I wanna play on every map that isn't terrible, maybe I'll play on this. But, I may get lazy an not feel like it, or my gf might call me while I am playing. BTW, I beat valug while I was on the phone, had to rub that in, dont feel bad tho, I beat my other friend while on the phone. But, the phone is also bad, one time, I was playin some good dude, it was a split game PvT, and she called so I was just like, sorry man, and I got a loss. Wow, I'm rambling, I should prolly stop now cause you will all think I am mental, jeez. Bye. I think I had 1 too many chocolates.

I'm attaching the map so if you want to play it you can, be sure to look at those ramps in game, I haven't gotten to look at them except in editor yet. Also report any balance issues to me.
