Holiday Mapmaking Contest!
Win by making the best map!
Anyone may participate in this contest.
Rules:
You may submit multiple maps.
You may submit any type of map. (Defense, Bound, RPG, Melee, etc.)
You may not submit a map started before the contest start date, December 10, 2005.
Your map must be submitted by December 31, 2005. (That's three weeks away!)
To submit a map: PM it to me or submit it to the DLDB and tell me when
it's available for download.
Judging will extend one week after the map due date.
Judging:
Maps will be scored 1-5 in two categories:
1) Content/Appeal. The fun and creativity in the map. How good the idea behind the map is.
2) Construction. How well the map was made. Seamless transitions, lack of bugs, etc.
Scores will be averaged and compaired to determine winners.

Prizes:
1st Prize: 4000 minerals

I think its important to say what the judges will be judging for...in other words out of 50, 100, etc. Also, i think it is completely unfair that judges can also participate and judge. i know most people can be trusted to be fair, but just for the sake of consistency, i don't think it right for judges to be in the contest as well.

I think judges should be limited otherwise people will just start judging other people's maps really bad to hope they can win.

Im so in this thing. But beware, I Shall be raising the bar. Especialy terrain wise. Also yeah i really dont like how people can have major advantages by judging and participating..

Does the map has to be protected? Can I just use original StarEdit? Is the staff going to judge prejudicially based on their friends at their top priority?

Yes, the contest starts today. And like the rule says, you cannot use maps which were started before today.
