The image shows up at 0KB, yet it takes some time to load on my screen. I then go to the page where the image is stored and view it's code to find out some wierd ASCII coding along with some wierd script, possibly JAVA or Javascript, I don't really recognize it. Could this be a possible backdoor for viruses, hackers and such?

Go here:

Then save the page and you'll have a filesize.

I really don't like dynamic images for 56k'ers sake. I believe caching won't work for them (not too sure) so they have to reload his image each time they load a topic with his post in it. In that regards, each image counts towards a total ohmy.gif

I guess not...
No where does it say you can't use dynamic images... although, I thought at one time it did.

I could make it a senv5 rule, however, what do you guys think of dynamic images? It's basically running a small script inside sen itself.

I would say no to dynamic images. Running that script after the PHP will just cause some unwanted lag, especially for the 56k users. You also never really know what that script could be.

Such as syncdicate taking all our IP addys and using them to get our names on his dynamic image...

Exactly.
Just like that signature with a penguin that says: Your IP Address is XX.XXX.XX.XXX on this network
You are running Operating System
