Staredit Network -> Ideas -> DIAL RPG

So I had this nice idea for an RPG.

Wrote the story, did the math.

I liked writing the story itself, but now comes the hard part. Making it.

All the things I've thought up (Which aren't all here) are possible to be done with every form of triggering im known of. Also the terrain should be possible. The map should feature a very vital storyline. The RPG would take around 9 days, and not all days would play on 1 map. It would be like an RPG-Campaign map.

But the problem is, it will need a very large amount of time and skill to create, and well, I don't have the time. I know this really belongs in the ''looking for freelancers'' topic, but I was wondering if I could get help from several people, who have good experience in map editing, and can work in a team.

Also, I was wondering if people had some suggestions or feedback on the story.

- Damned In Any Language-

Introduction:

Safely stored in the temple of the ancients...

...Safely...

...So they thought...

But one day, a faithfull servant, who didn't mean real harm, touched the stone of luck,
and in just six hours, the city that stood for thousands of years, fell.

Years later, the pilgrims of prophecy searched among the ruins, for the 4 stone's.
...Only 3 where found...
The only one missing was the stone of luck
Redeemed by their mistake, they took the remaining 3 stone's to
the outskirts of the world
Never to be united again
For their power together would be amazing
...To strong for anyone to handle...

Forever they looked, but never they found

''...Unlimited power...''
''...Maybe its for the best...''

Demo:

Play as the kid -need name-, who has to get some groceries at grandma, but finds grandma dissapeared, and when he comes back, his town destroyed, by the DarkLord, -need name-.

Poem:

Scarred on his eyes where the flames of destruction
Nine days to consume them
Only the mightiest of all sacrifices
Can overome the growing darkess

Script:

Awakes after the nightmare:

Dad: Hey, wake up! Dreaming again, where you?
You didn't forget you had to pickup groceries at grandma, did you?

Kid: But dad! I wanna go play in the woods!

Dad: No boy, you can go and play later, but first you have to pick up the groceries, else you want have a decent dinner.

-Minimap ping Grandma-

Side quest active: Destroy beetle infestation Reward: 15 gold.

Side Quest Script:

Peasant: Hey kid, some beetle's are ruining my yard, could you get rid of them? I'll pay you some gold.

Continue:

Once you arrive at grandma, you find her house in ruins, and grandma missing.
You decide to go back to town.
Once you get back to town, it appears to be destroyed, people killed and missing.
You find your father, mortally wounded.
He speaks his last words.

Dad: Son, it is important you take this stone. Keep it safe, and guard it with your life.

After father speaks his last words, the boy stays with him for the rest of the night,
alone in the dark, crying...

I would be more than happy to work on this rpg, but only with a team of Capable map makers.

Theres a few grammar mistakes in there.

I like the start, it sounds almost exactly like a map I wanted to make a while back though. (minus grandma and change the dad to an uncle, and change the grocery trip into the woods into a small hunting trip up a mountain) I started making a map a while back that could be someplace to start.

Ya, another difference is that he was going to watch as his town was destroyed from atop a mountain. Meh, you can do what you want with it.

Seems like a mixture of WoodenFire and Forsakens Intro thing. A story like forsaken, and a poem like woodenfire. Heh. Sounds cool. You should make it.

This beginning of this reminds me of a gameboy advance game... the games called Sword Of Mana. You need the kids dad to give him a sword.. that would be cool cool1.gif
